In the end you're judged by what you do. If they were hired to help us scout bargains abroad, they turned up Szabi Schon and that's it. Unless you count JOT, who was born in Slough.
I think you're missing the point, Barnetto, could you possibly imagine Wycombe finding Szabi in front of us?

My guess is they got involved because they thought their algorithm and AI modelling could replicate high level data based on single camera footage of games. I.e. post COVID and iFollow suddenly they thought they could cheaply run close to top level analytics on the football league.

You find a "sleeping giant", get some shares cheaply, moneyball them back up the leagues and then cash out your shares.

Clearly hasn't gone *exactly* to plan, if so.

Nixon saying that Celtic want a million for Kenny. So think that is going to rule us out.

I'm not sure that it does, the club has the Collins money to spend as well as whatever budget SS has been given. For me the question is around is he worth £1M as I have never heard of the lad. I've got a feeling that there may be something in this ?

Yeah, I would guess that we could pay £1m, but do the club think he’s worth that, and if we spent that on him, would we have money left over for the other signings we need?

Well - whether we could rustle up a million quid is less my point and more whether we’d want to.

Couple of years ago, no. But in the past couple of days they’ve signed a Dutch goalkeeper from Feyenoord and a Swiss-born striker from Dortmund, so either they’re throwing darts at a map or they’re getting ideas from somewhere… :D

We bid 500k, they want 1 million. Sounds like a 750k bid may do it.

Sure but Celtic aren’t a league one club who will be thinking if they don’t sell they might lose out and cost them a years revenue.

So I suspect it will be match their terms or tough.

Chuks Aneke released from Charlton. He’s 31, 1.9m, a handful. Would anyone go for him for a back up striker if we’re only doing 1 up front?

Edit: Asked a mate who’s a Charlton fan, and he said Aneke is rarely fit.

I'm not even sure Schon was one of theirs; could have been Adam Bogdan who does some scouting for us.

Heh, interesting. Point is, not like we’ve turned off a raging torrent of talent.

Indeed, Ilesy’s reaction analysis - currently paywalled - says Schon was not Ludonautics’ suggestion but Markham’s.

Maybe Ludonautics were suggesting actual good players?

Appears to be a 6’4” defensive midfielder - not the profile of player I was expecting us to be pursuing at this stage.

Not the profile we want but definitely the profile we need.
