Re: Pre-season 2025
Much better up top with McAtee, Lawrence and Cosier-Duberry. Looking a lot better.
McAtee with some good interplay.
Cosier-Duberry wearing the #2. So much for the no number 2 for the wingers.

Johnston scores a header from a corner! 2-0
Re: Pre-season 2025
Toal effort cleared off the line and the resulting corner headed in by Johnston. 2-0. Lovely header, rustiness shaken off it seems

Some really good tackles and blocks coming in from Toal and Johnston.
We've comfortably been the better side in this second half. Pirates upping the tempo now.

Re: Pre-season 2025
A lot of very encouraging signs here, although I think it's fair to point out that Orlando look like they're very undercooked.
Re: Pre-season 2025
Apparently they're at the same stage of the pre-season as we are. First game of pre-season. So there should be few excuses to put around.
A big claim possibly could be the number of subs we've made. Two sides, whereas I don't think they've freshened up as much.
Positive signs from Daeshon Lawrence and Conway. Both have contributed and neither look out of place. All the new signings are putting in a good shift.
McAtee makes it three, but goal is ruled out for offside. Assist from Schon, but it won't count. Close.
Re: Pre-season 2025
Nasty challenge from Johnston sacks their new player Kwayiba. Yellow. Bit rough for pre-season.

Not seen any. And I don’t really care much for pre season results but 2-0 in the heat sounds like a passable start.

Soz!
I watched on the OP YouTube channel. The messages in the sidebar suggest their supporters are not at all impressed with their new manager and signings.

Re: Pre-season 2025
Did Taylor play left back? I know its only pre season and positions are a bit more flexible but does this hint that its Conway/Taylor/Johnston for LB aligning with Schumachers "4 Centre backs" comment.

Re: Pre-season 2025
It looked that way.
I've managed about 30 minutes so far. It wasn't great. But it's early pre-season, so a long way to go.

Taylor played left back in the 1st half, Conway in the 2nd. Both looked good. Johnston played at CB alongside Toal in the 2nd half and looked ropey, but scored.

Re: Pre-season 2025
The club should be commended for the approach they are taking to this pre season and the media stuff. Getting fans involved. McGinlay may not be the most natural presenter but the stuff he’s doing with the players etc on YouTube and Schumacher I like it a lot.
Feels much less forced - much more open and it’s impossible to tell really but the glimpses we get makes it feel like there is a different atmosphere about the club. A more easy one maybe where they are embracing the club and the fans rather than seeing it as a curse.
I also like the fact that apparently all we’ve worked on is defensive shape off the ball and set pieces. Schuey says we’ve done nothing on ‘attacking patterns’ which of course was the major focus previously.
Schumacher seems bubbly and embracing it too rather than hiding away or seemingly not wanting former club legends involved. Mcginlay in the interview today actually could ask a real question or at least make a real statement by saying he likes the look of Warren. Which feels a far cry from the over polished and sterile media clubs tend to put out.
Whenever I think the setup is right we usually have a bad season and none of this really means a lot in terms of how successful or otherwise we will be - but it just to me has a feel that it’s better behind the scenes.
