Why dont they rid the game of agents. Then when a player decides to leave, he chooses a club (most money) and a solicitor hammers out the clauses? Simple or not?

No, can't do that. If players negotiate their own wages they'd all be on about two hundred quid a week. Season ticket prices would drop extraordinarily and the whole British economy would implode. We can't have that now, can we?

Surely this has to be considered massive conflict of interest. How can McKay represent Barton's interests when he's more concerned with trying to win an obscene fee for himself? would think this is grounds for Barton to sue him into poverty.

In some large sport agencies such as IMG and Octagon, agents deal with all aspects of an athlete's finances, from investment to filing taxes.

Well ****, considering that the name Willie McKay instantly makes everyone hate a player he's sure doing a crappy job "handling public relations."
