I'll say! I enjoyed witnessing my Mariners' sweep of the BOgusSOX on Sunday. What a day, 40,000 fans out at Safeco (I think 20K were cheering for the bad guys, tho).americantrotter wrote:Not our year. Oh well. Yankees=American version of United. I'll keep fighting the good fight anyways.
As for the NFL, I've been a Seahawks fan since the start (1976). It's a great time to be one -- what with one of the top 2-3 QB's in the game and a trip to SB XLI is in the offing. But, in all honesty, despite NA-Football being a big part of my past -- I played Division III college ball -- it has been utterly eclipsed for me by (proper) football. I recently attended the Real Madrid - DC United match at Qwest Field (home of the Seahawks) with 67,000 others -- that kind of regular following for top flight football in this country if it ever happens is 50 years off -- but it was nice to dream what it would be like for a night.

I rooted for the Seahawks last year. You were robbed.
The sox can't even field a decent starting 9 now. Always next year.
Moss is a great receiver, and the other 2 just need to get open enough to avoid double teaming him at all times. Add-in Cooley and we have apotent offense. (Well if Brunell didnt suck)

Trust me, they were robbed. So much that the Ref's have been taught how to interpret pass interference differently this season. Not to mention the false start that never was.
I am a little worried, as Portis is a huge talent. However the offensive line is sound, and Ladell Betts is a decent player himself. So fingers crossed we will get by.

If you were to take the game of Rugby (in either code), take out the guile, intelligence, physical superiority and skill of achieving advancement as a unit whilst only ever passing the ball backwards. Then dumbed it down by just lobbing it forwards instead. If you then decked out the players of the simplified game with all manner of safety equipment, the sort of which you might expect to see a fellow fired from a cannon in, or attempt a motorcycle stunt rather than collect a ball under pressure. Might you not reasonably conclude that this is a game of lesser fellows, both cerebrally and physically?

Loads of my big mates are great rinners.
How many do you know? 19stone? Really?
In rugby the average winger is now 15 or 16 stone ( 230 - 240lbs as you want to use that measure), they'll do a 10.6 sec 100 metres.
Jonah Lomuh - 280lbs 100 meters 10.9seconds.
How are they more intelligent? Because they went to "college"? Ah yes American sports scholarships, respected the world over for the genii it produces. No help with classes or exams in order to ensure players get through at all no, no ever.
