Agreed. His cover of Nine Inch Nails "Hurt" was on a par with the original. Even better if you watch the video.

Their previous album (unnamed) was written in a made-up nonsence language with all the tracks untitled. The transalted lyrics and titles are all the suggestions of fans.

"An alright star" is worth catch up on too.

Saw them final night of Glastonbury on the "Other" stage before Doves rounded off the night - absolutely awesome, though being f*cked up on some class A skunk may have had something to do with it.

I haven't contributed to this thread before. I usually listen to music from the 1960s (when all the good song were wrtitten of course). However, to announce this here would be followed by abuse and suggestions I take a taxi somewhere. Still, my children on occasion try to get me into this millenium musically speaking and make CDs of songs they think I'll like. At the moment it seems to be Cold Play ('swallowed in the sea' and 'Till Kingdom Come'), some chap called Creed who is making some sort of sacrifice, and a Doane woman who has something to do with Goliath. Also Afroman, who ruined his life when he got high. Well, they are not as bad as some I've heard.

It's the recommends of your children that I'm more disappointed in to be honest, Monty. Canada is turning out some fantastic bands like Arcade Fire and Tragically Hip, yet the fruit of your loins would have you listen to a bunch of bed-wetters like Coldplay? Have a word with them, my man. Also, what about Gordy whatshisname? Sounded perfectly agreeable when I last checked out some of his stuff!

Er, well, you see Gordy Whathisname was from the 1960s - that Canadian Railroad trilogy you downloaded was (I think) from our centennial year (1967). Oh, the surname is Lightfoot. The kids also made a CD of his songs that I like for the road trip (did she mention my name, me and Bobby McGee, Sit down young stranger, etc.). So Cold Play are bedwetters - oh dear (although maybe I should check with Gerte

).
