"Baby give it up"

Post by Nozza » Fri Oct 06, 2006 9:33 pm

Anyone know who does the dance version of this? I know the original is by KC and the Sunshine Band, but need the quicker, dancier version of it to sing the David Connelly song. Any (serious) help would be much obliged. Ta.

I remember KC's original!

Just Googled it and found this - is this who you are looking for?

Dancemania Lyrics: Captain Jack ("Party Warriors")

http://www.animelyrics.com/dance/captai ... veitup.htm

Seems to be the same lyrics as KC's.

Cheers Sluff, the lyrics are the same, but the beat is far quicker than KC's (which I have on my PC... )

Wow, I never expected to come on The Wanderer and find the name of the awesome Captain Jack being mentioned. This man has been a cult figure to me for a couple of years now and his music has to be heard to be believed. The best way to sum it up would be to say he's even worse then DJ Sammi or Skooter. No other human being has the ability that this man has to make a song so awful that it almost becomes brilliant. Europop at its worst.

He does indeed do a dance verion of "Give It Up" which may be what you're looking for Hoolio. Check out his website

http://www.captain-jack.de/songs.5.0.html

There's a sample of his version on there so you can see if it's what you're looking for. While you're there take a little time to have a listen to his classic Drill Instructor and his immense version of Queen's Another One Bites The Dust. You know it makes sense.

To get you in the mood, here's a picture of the good Captain with David Coulthard.

Image

I imagine he's just asked the Scottish playboy "Why the wide face?"

Oh, and here he is with Chris De Burgh.

Image

The only recording artist on Earth that he actually has more talent than.

Hahahaha.

The Smiths ARE shite though... just an Eighties equivalent of The Doors... an average guitar band fronted by a faux tortured soul with a fistful of 6th Form poetry...

...at least this Capt Jack doesn't pretend to have read Rimbaud. There's a certain honesty that Morrison and Morrisey could learn from this fellow.

While I disagree with practically every word you have written I have to admit that there is a genuine honesty about Captain Jack. There is something pure about him. From his classic, Drill Instructor....

That's the reason why Drill Instructor loves to fight"

Never heard of the bloke, but sounds like a classic outpouring from someone who does neither. What a contradiction in terms.
