F**k 'em, they want nukes - let em have nukes, they wanna bomb the sh*t out of each other, let them as far as i'm concerned if the nutballs wanna wipe each other out then let them.

Just as long as our army is equiped to deal with any strike against us I couldn't give a sh*t about Asia, the middle-east or the Balkans or any other place where some crazy dictator is in charge.

Interesting to see that China are asking for sanctions, they're usually right on the side of the Koreans, commies together solidarity and all that

Some of the more "experienced" posters are gonna have to help me out here...

North korea have tested a supposed Nuke. Why on earth are America of all people in outcry? 8 countrys already have nukes, and its most of these 8 countries which have expressed their anger fiercest.

If the world's powers at be don't want any more countries to have nukes for fear of twitchy-button-finger-syndrom then why do the other 8, seein they're so bothered simply disarm there's?

Or am I beginning to sounds naively idealistic? (You'll have to forgive me I did a business degree, I wasn't tought to give a shit about such things)
Something to do with the Nuclear non-proliferation treaty that goes along the lines of "Those that have nukes already, okay, but no expansion please."
This seems to have precluded Pakistan, India, South Africa and Israel. Anyway if we are going to be nuked by North Korea at least it'll be cheap. 8)

Theres quite a difference between the 8 countries who have nukes now and the likes of N. Korea getting hold of them. All those 8 countries are under control and part of the world community. N. Korea is led by a man comparable in many ways to Hitler, just imagine his own people as the Jews. They are a completly closed off country fed with constant propaganda about how the Americans canibalise their victims in Iraq and how they are so privilidged to be living in N. Korea while they wander around searching for blades of grass for dinner.

Whats most concerning about them developing nukes is how strong their trade links are with the likes of Iran, Syria and the like, they are desperate for cash and theres absolutely nothing stopping them from flogging WMD components in that direction. Thats why one of the sanctions the yanks are proposing is that all cargo going in and out of N. Korea has to be checked. However at the end of the day, China is gunna have the final say on what is done, China arn't as friendly as they used to be though. After 50 years of support they got fook all in return. All they are really worried about now is the influx of refugee's that are gunna pour into China should any action be too harsh. They currently supply 70% of their food which they can't cut off for exactly that reason.

no - I meant it... do you seriously believe that the USA is honouring all the weapons treaties it has signed re. non-proliferation of nukes??

do you believe that the USA is not extensively developing a new breed of nuclear weapons - not least so-called "theatre" nukes to be deployed in many and diverse ways??

The destruction of ICBMs in the last decade was pretty much a sham - as they were old technology..

Do you believe that USA is not also developing biological weaponry contrary to weapons treaties?

he USA arms budget is MASSIVE - and it is not being spent primarily on tin hats and armoured lunch-boxes...

the USA is in no real sense of the phrase "under control" when it comes to nukes... they do not allow full and open access to their missile development sites any more than Iraq did...

Dunno, but I think the main point is would they use them offensively?

I don't think theres any chance of the USA ever using a nuclear weapon in anger offensively or even defenseivly. There would never be enough justification for it and certainly never a large enough target.
