I checked 2 pages worth and couldnt find it. Thank you thread police. I was hoping there was another thread, just posting the link would suffice.communistworkethic wrote:and this couldn't have gone in the exsiting thread because?
I agree, he wasnt half bad, it's just that I remember the whole movie as well. Can't blame Brosnan, he was a quite convincing version; more the crap scriptwriters.

There are two search functions AT. Top right box is useless but the search button on the top centre task bar is pretty good.americantrotter wrote:No sir officer. It would not.![]()
However, I have found the search function useless in the past, so I tried looking back and couldnt find it, posted it again. If you look back I think you'll see that I am not a chronic offender, and generally try to obey the laws officer.

It is okay with one word searches but is not so good with concepts or if you are looking for a very specific post.communistworkethic wrote:top right is what I used and it did fine.Montreal Wanderer wrote:There are two search functions AT. Top movie for me..
The real James Bond as written stands up...
Just the one major Gripe.. I'm at a movie I've paid £8...
if you must sell me stuff make it artful, a bit subtle... The overt and stupid product placement throughout did my head in
The Omega ad was just feckin ludicrous...
edit.....
and another thing Ford feckin Ford.. wots that about....?

Just a personal point of view, since I haven't seen this latest film, but:
James Bond belonged to his creator, Ian Fleming. He should stay the way Fleming had him, with all his traits and customs and using the characters and props Fleming used. If Hollywood wants to make a new hero with a different slant on things, then why do they need Bond? Why not use a 0010 or somebody, or even "Son of James Bond? Leave Fleming's Bond the way he was. He'd be about sixty or more now, anyway. If Robin Hood and the Arthurian Legends have been played about with as much over the years since they were supposed to have existed, little wonder their history is so screwed up. Hollywood is probably responsible for more myths in three hours than either went through in a lifetime.
The latest Robin Hood is a classic example: Modern haircuts and designer stubble, hand stiched leathers and all. Last week had a spiv/barrow boy character in a button-up sheepskin jacket and a trilby straight out of Del boy. Stick to the historical versions or leave them alone.
Like I said at the start, just a personal opinion.

I know what you're getting at TD but characters leave the writer's image as soon as a screenwriter gets his hands on the book and then even moreso when the director becomes involved. We each interpret books and their imagery differently. Certainly Daniel Craig is closer to Fleming's character than anything since Connery.

Well, I'll certainly see the film when I have the chance and judge it on its merits as such. Sounds a better perspective than most to date. Even Connery's tongue-in-cheek Bond didn't come across as the real article.communistworkethic wrote:I know what you're getting at TD but characters leave the writer's image as soon as a screenwriter gets his hands on the book and then even moreso when the director becomes involved.
