I thought so - on the north coast of the peninsular (my aunt lived on the south coast at Abersoch). The mountains looked two of the three Rivals or Yr Eifl, and I think I might be correct.

We used to go to my Gran's house in Llanbedrogg every summer. In Lostock we lived across the street from Bernard Whitaker who owned the department store in Deansgate (his son David may still do for all I know). They went to Nefyn (I think they spelled it nevin back then) every summer. The Lleyn Penisular was a beautiful part of the world back then - hope it still is.Batman wrote:Spot on.
Google Ty Coch Inn and you'll see why I go there!

On a clear day I can recommend climbing Garn Fadryn - spectacular (if windy) view from the top of the water on three sides (Abersoch, Hell's Mouth, and Nefyn) and beyond the sea, the mountains of mid wales.Batman wrote:Gorgeous.
Been there a few times now, just for a night or two - very calming.

I meant I think the English spelled it that way on their maps etc. See for example the picture Bay at Nevin at http://americanart.si.edu/1001/2002/08/080302.html or the National gazeteer of Wlaes which gives both http://homepage.ntlworld.com/geogdata/ngw/n.htmthebish wrote:I doubt it... it is pronounced "nevin" - because a single "f" in welsh is pronounced like a "v" (unless it is at the end of the word in which case it is often dropped.) "ff" is pronounced like the english "f".Montreal Wanderer wrote: They went to Nefyn (I think they spelled it nevin back then)
