DVD Recording - Techie Help Needed!

I'm just learning how to use my DVD Recorder on the PC, can anyone recommend any software with which to do this, as my pre-installed one seems a bit shite.

It's now bringing up some gay message that says -

"The software used to decode the media is not available on this system. Installing the correct decoders for the files you are working with may help to correct the problem!

I'm trying to import Windows Media Player clips and its being gay.

That sounds very much like your trying to view a Divx without the codec (or some other format)

Try http://www.codecguide.com/about_kl.htm

The above site was all i could find at short notice but please check the download with anti virus as i personally haven't used a codec pack for a while and hence haven't used that one.

there's a real cool program called (rather rudely!) Gspot which sorts out all the codecs for you - it's awesome...

it tells you which codecs are missing - so you can go and download them..
