Commie, I'm 100% with you on the question so carefully posed. Of course you can bully someone of a different race without referring to their ethnicity, and you can also do so without even noticing their ethnicity. Although I've not watched much of it (bar the Russell Brand thing later on in the evenings because I like the show's style rather than its subject matter), from what I know and have heard from watchers (not papers) I don't think Shilpa is [insert racial epithet here], I think she's a snooty stuck-up f*cker which may be a result of a caste system or may be a result of her huge popularity, fame and wealth. She's obviously appalled to see this section of UK society (the trio that Ian Holloway called the Witches of Eastwick) but unlike most of us she can't hide from it, she has to interact with it and she simply can't. As I said at the very beginning, for me the real troublesome issue isn't the racism - that's pretty marginal & shows more of an inset attitude than any particularly viscious race issue.

It's the class-based bullying. It's simply extreme & shows very clearly what exists of every street in the country these days. The brainless "I've got rights" yob / chav attitudes of a sub-culture where being leery and loud seems to be allowed to make up for years of ill attention in education and no desire to get down to some work.

Like I said at the onset; until somebody does, and that means starting from the top, it'll just get worse. Why show assholes "respect", when they show respect to no one? Time for mister nice guy to get tough. Zero tolearance is needed and not just to be talked about. We need a fresh set of rules and rapidly. thats why i sed i'd've headbutted her , coz you know as soon as you throw a punch - the "shes disabled" counter-excuse civil 'rights' shite would come about - newspapers would say "a1 beats up defenceless one armed 'woman' " etc , which would be slightly ironic .. if i headbutt her , shes got one of them (hers might be empty, but whatever) , she could attempt to get me back , i assume it would be equal-er .. whereas if i throw two booming right hooks , she's disadvantaged .. dont know the legal behind it but its 'fairer' in my eyes - kinda like when jacktwatty "never called her a paki , he called her a kunnt" i could just go "i didnt use my arms to batter her with , i used me skull"

Don't remember advocating any "cracks around the bracket" ( although it's what we got if we did wrong) Bruce. Think I said child control starts almost from birth and not at fourteen years old. Far too late then. Teach them right from wrong from the start and they don't need much more normally. Never laid a finger on my own kids, ever. Love the bones of them and never needed to. There's also just a bit of a difference in head-butting a middle-aged woman, whatever sort of an ass she may be (although I don't really believe A1 was serious, that's why the "rolling eyes and no further comment))

All of the remedies are a bit late now. Give the teachers the right to cane again and you'd probably find a gang of hoodies waiting after school to kick shit out of them. Would probably take a generation to level out again. Is there any real harm in wanting better for your kids and grandkids and the kids of he future? Where's the double standard?
