The man for England is Sam, always was and always will be until someone better comes along.
Na, Coppell left city due to family problems.
Coppell left City after being caught cruising for rent boys near Canal St....

When are people going to realise that it was a totally different game? Ben Haim wasn't exposed one against Israel like he was for us.superjohnmcginlay wrote:With regard to Ben Haim it would have been nice if he'd decided to play like that for us against Rooney.
Oh yeah - McLaren Out.
I agree with that - the horse mouth c*nt.

Hmm I suppose comparing Man U to England's a bit daft as Man U would wipe the floor with England at the moment.Idiot Wind wrote:When are people going to realise that it was a totally different game? Listening to 606 I was amazed to hear people talking like they seriously expected us to wipe the floor with Israel.
What performance over the past 10 years has given anyone the impression we're a good side?

I'm not asking you to 'think outside the box' I just wish you'd have a rummage around in it once in a while.

Well there was that Beckham goal against Greece. And us ripping Germany apart that time.coffeymagic wrote:Listening to 606 I was amazed to hear people talking like they seriously expected us to wipe the floor with Israel.

That Beckham goal does not a great (or half decent) performance make though.
If you watch that game you'll see goldenballs generally getting in the way of every single bito of England midfield play. There's a bit where Scholes tells him to 'get out of the fecking way'.
The myth that Beckham could spray 60 yard passes was swallowed hook, line and sinker by Sven, the press and most worryingly Beckham himself without any physical proof.
DB was another case of the emperors new clothes.
As for Rooney in TBH's pocket. I said in another thread that the way Rooney played infront of McClaren's eyes against us IS the way to play him. Not chasing lost cause 60 yard hoofs. When he's fit we can get Owen to do that pointless task.
I'm glad that Idiotwind got stuck into McClaren - he said what we're all thinking.

He quit Citeh because he hated being away from his boyfriend ... fact.Loyal White wrote:The same Steve Coppell who quit City because of the stress of the job?!
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Now, now Mr B that's not like you. I've met Steve Coppell and his wife - they seem like a nice couple.bobo the clown wrote:He quit Citeh because he hated being away from his boyfriend ... fact.Loyal White wrote:The same Steve Coppell who quit City because of the stress of the job?!
I think he left City because he saw it's rotten from bottom to top.
Hooray!

I've not seen any of the intervies but do I need to?
Crooksie/Wrighty/Brighty/Lawro/Garry/Alan/Alan asking the tough questions that need asking?
Was your shirt a bity itchy? What's the hotel golf course like?
They should have a fanzone asking the players the questions the fans want asking.

Yeah, I seem to remember at the time that it was a cover story for something or other. Its a high pressure job i'm sure, but if it was affecting him physically, surely he wouldn't have returned.Idiot Wind wrote:LeeRoyBrown wrote:Loyal White wrote:The same Steve Coppell who quit City because of the stress of the job?! The pressure on him to keep Reading up or even get them promoted in the first place would have caused a relapse! As i'm sure next season will (if he has stress issues) when they struggle to stay up, a la Wigin, Ipswich, West Ham etc.

Everyone would expect England to play 4-4-2...so:
--------------- Robinson ---------------
--------Terry Ferdinand Carragher ------
---- Gary Neville --------------- Wayne Bridge -----
---------------Hargreaves ----------
-------------Lampard Gerrard ---------
-------------Bent/Owen (when fit, if ever) Rooney ------
Jobs a good'un.
