Sorry Bruce, There has been a lot of posts about 'your not there, you don't have an opinion' in The Trotters forum in reference to who watches the whites live and who doesn't, and I was under the impression this is what Cowdrill was refereing to. That was the reason for my reply, because after trolling through all that shite, I found that Cowdrill's ironic post simply brought a refreshing smile to my face.Bruce Rioja wrote:I really must go to a boxing match then, as there must be stuff going on, highly relevant to the fight, that doesn't get picked up on by TV, Soldier.Soldier_Of_The_White_Army wrote:Quality post!!cowdrill wrote:you lot only saw the fight on tv
so it doesnt count
If you're allowed to qualify Cowdrill's comments as a "Quality post!!", Soldier, then equally I'm allowed to qualify them as being of absolute rubbish. Not that you can't draw an opinion on the footie from tele, you understand? This is something that, for me, is just a variant of 'opinion formed from available information given the source' type o' thang, and not a I-go-so-therefore-I-know-everything against a you-don't-so-accordingly-you-know-nowt, type of opinion. Just that the comparison to watching the boxing on TV with watching footie on TV is absolutely, well, incomparable..

Many thanks for the enlightenment though.Soldier_Of_The_White_Army wrote:Sorry Bruce, There has been a lot of posts about 'your not there, you don't have an opinion' in The Trotters forum in reference to who watches the whites live and who doesn't, and I was under the impression this is what Cowdrill was refereing to. I see fireworks, but does Hatton stand a chance?Floyd Mayweather says he will reverse his decision to retire and silence a 'disrespectful' Ricky Hatton.
Mayweather immediately hung up his gloves having beaten Oscar de la Hoya for the WBC light-middleweight title.
However, the unbeaten Pretty Boy has been left smarting at comments made by Hatton - and is now tempted to return to the ring for a multi-million pound showdown.
The Hitman launched a verbal offensive on Mayweather in the aftermath of stopping Jose Luis Castillo in a bid to goad the 30-year-old back into the sport.
And the tactic looks to have worked, with Mayweather responding in his typically brash style.
"I was retired but I'll sign to fight Hatton right now," Mayweather said. "I've tried to let the things he said about me slide by but now he's 'dissing' me on national TV and I want to shut him up.
"I've never wanted to hurt an opponent like I do Hatton. For me, boxing is a science but it will be a pleasure to prove to the world what a great phoney the guy is.
"Ricky Hatton cannot fight. He cannot box. He throws one punch at a time and then holds. There is no skill to what he does in the ring. He has got zero skills."
"Young people, nowadays, imagine money is everything."
"Yes, and when they grow older they know it."
