That Dexter Programme they keep plugging.....
.....on the telly, looks absolute shite.
Apparently it has been on in the US for a year or so, finally worked it's way over here but it looks turd. Am I wrong?

I enjoyed Charlie Brooker's dissection of pop song paedophilia and revenge murder in todays Guardian too. Much so than Dexter. Watch the Wire instead, repeated on FX from next week.communistworkethic wrote:charlie brooker in the Guardian suggests it's not as good as all the hype with what could be the best opening paragraph of a TV review ever written.

...much of which hype came from the previous week's issue of the Guardian Guide!communistworkethic wrote:charlie brooker in the Guardian suggests it's not as good as all the hype with what could be the best opening paragraph of a TV review ever written.
Brooker's a fine writer. But no matter how much he insists (and the selfsame column acknowledges this) I just can't get into The Wire.
Have watched the first 4 episodes and I can just see the committee who thought it up now
"People like CSI....hmmm.. what can we do with that?"
"Let's make it DARKER"
"Replace the skilled CSIs with a murderer!?!!"
"You've just won us an Emmy"
Avoid.
