What I DON'T want to see on Saturday

If you have a life outside of BWFC, then this is the place to tell us all about your toilet habits, and those bizarre fetishes.......

What I DON'T want to see on Saturday

Post by bobo the clown » Wed Aug 08, 2007 3:11 pm

Along with an (effectively) new manager, a squad essentially with only TBH having left and 9 or 10 newbies added and a possible new attacking mentality ... you know what I'd like to see (or, rather NOT see) on Saturday ??

Those fecking pre-match fireworks.

I pray to God they stop using them. Utterly pointless, probably costing a couple of season tickets worth of cash over a season and the creators of a fog which last 5m into the match once Autumn sets in. Here's hoping.

Anyone else got any pet hates ? (NOT including the inept barstwards of bar stewards - too easy)

I quite like the fireworks, but I despise the flag wavers, the premiership pre-match music, the Cheerleaders and the goal music

I'm okay with 633 Squadron, but James Brown's dead now. Let him rest in peace and don't, please don't, give us "I feel good". Time to change the record.

Prem music - actually like it
Cheerleaders - sorry girls, time to go

I wouldn't go so far as to say that I like the fireworks but it does feel really strange when they aren't there.
I like the 633 Squadron and the Premiership anthem.
I despise the flag-men and the cheerleaders and the Reebok Rhythm.

The fireworks are ok at a push I suppose and 633 squadron isn't too bad.
The cheerleaders aren't old enough so they have to go along with those bloody flag wavers, how amateur do we look? Add the goal music to the list of things to bin (don't care if it's James Brown or Chubby Brown, its embarrassing and has got to go) plus unless we can get someone who can drum a beat in time then that band over in the corner can bugger off too.

Apparently they've changed the Premier League theme tune. The new tune is incredibly bland and goes on for ages.

Fireworks are decidedly shite and smacks of 'we're trying to entertain you'. You're not there for entertainment, you're there to watch Bolton (which works in both senses of the phrase). Same with the cheerleaders and the blokes with flags. Ditch them, and the annual trip to the Reebok will be the better for it.

This may not have occured to you, but the reason that the drummin sounds out of time is because...light travels faster than sound! So if you're sitting in the north east stand...it sounds out of time to what you're seeing.duh! It could also be that you cant keep in time as in no constant tempo when you're singing.

I take it thos that opose to the reebok rhythm oppose any form of performance that tries to get rid of the extremely shit atmosphere we have at the reebok. Sing along and maybe you mite start to enjoy urselves!

I think the difference requires you to be a bit further way than 120 yards. Nice science, poor interpretation.

The reason it sounds shite is that it's brain-numbing & it's a minor miracle no-ones ever buried some of the feckers in the bass drum.

It's not a shit interpretation. If you take into account the accoustics of the ground...the drum echoes around a few times before its even got 60yards...never mind 120. We're all sayin that our atmospheres gettin worse, so join in with the chants and get it back too how it was a few seasons back when the drummers where there and everyone sang along!

I can understand where you're all comign from in the fact that when the match is crap it can get annoying, but when the team are winning and you won't even sing...i mean...come on!

What? Hang on, Tango. You don't see how utterly cheesey and downright embarrassing the 'goal music' is? Well maybe you do, however, what you're saying is that you just want to change the tune on the grounds that James Brown's snuffed it? You've astounded me, fella. Absolutely astounded me. So, any other music's fine so long as it's by someone that's alive? :conf:

My man, (you started the patronising) of course the drummers look out of time with the timing of their strikes due to the embarrassingly condescending reason that you give. However, they sound out of time (sound traveling at the exact same speed as, well, sound) because they're completely out of time with one and other, utterly fecking shite and couldn't hold a tune on a two by two basis. From what you say, they sound like they're demolishing a garden shed with toffee hammers by virtue of light traveling faster than sound? Have you ever considered Media Studies? :conf:
