Seemingly might be the operative word there, Tango. You never know about some people and the secrets they hide.TANGODANCER wrote:What reason on God's earth would there be for ( seemingly sensible, balanced) parents to harm their own child, a seemingly harmless angelic little girl? Just doesnt add up. The circumstances, a meal out rather than no one knowing about it all, make it odder still. Baffling logic.
Not that I think they had anything to do with it (other than criminally neglectful behaviour), but you really do never know. I have a feeling that this is just going to be one of those things that runs and runs, and I'm not sure they'll ever find the answer to it, to be honest.

Yes, you'll notice I used it twice, indicating that things aren't always as they seem. One of the basic police questions when seeking the culrits of this sort of crime is " Who would benefit?" In this case, that is maybe not the whole story.blurred wrote:Seemingly might be the operative word there, Tango. As soon as the investigation started to change from a missing persons one to a potential murder then I think the police would look to those closest to the McCanns as the most likely suspects, including the parents. I just hope her disappearance it isn't anything to do with them (other than leaving the kids alone in the first place) for the sake of their other two children.

I sincerely hope this doesn't involve the parents, or even one of them.

so they're suggesting that the mccanns hid the body for 25 days then disposed of it using the hire car?enfieldwhite wrote:http://news.sky.com/skynews/article/0,, ... 58,00.htmlsuperjohnmcginlay wrote:Source?Loyal White wrote:Latest news is that the police have found Maddie's DNA in a rental car the McCann's had 25 days after her disappearence.

Hmmmm, now either the mccanns are world hide and seek champions or the portugese police aint up to much.
anyway, she'd too skinny to be innocent. First sign of an infanticidal looney so it is.

It's all very fishy, this whole episode, from day one. I hope they find out what happened to her, but I suspect that they never will. Which is sad, for the parents (if they weren't involved) and almost moreso for th remaining children.

Maddie's DNA will be on their clothes & stuff.
The reality is that if a child is killed a major suspect will ALWAYS be the family. Though you could get rid of a body ... to do that so successfully, in an area you don't know, with other family members around takes some doing. Especially iof it wasn't planned out to the nth.
Not impossible, but highly unlikely.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

I'm assuming the McCann's hired the car some days after Maddy went missing so assuming they are innocent and I suspect/hope they are who hired the car before them, maybe they had something to do with her abduction?Loyal White wrote:Latest news is that the police have found Maddie's DNA in a rental car the McCann's had 25 days after her disappearence.
The Voice Of Reason
The car was hired 25 days after she disappeared.Salford Trotter wrote:I'm assuming the McCann's hired the car some days after Maddy went missing so assuming they are innocent and I suspect/hope they are who hired the car before them, maybe they had something to do with her abduction?Loyal White wrote:Latest news is that the police have found Maddie's DNA in a rental car the McCann's had 25 days after her disappearence.

So very bad people decide to abduct a child. To assist in this they HIRE A CAR to make their escape.Salford Trotter wrote:I'm assuming the McCann's hired the car some days after Maddy went missing so assuming they are innocent and I suspect/hope they are who hired the car before them, maybe they had something to do with her abduction?Loyal White wrote:Latest news is that the police have found Maddie's DNA in a rental car the McCann's had 25 days after her disappearence.
31/2 weeks later the family of the abducted child hire a car ... & lo & behold, it's the same car.
If there is any innocent reason then it'll be that the McCann brought the DNA with them ontheir person. OR the police did likewise.
Remember the fuss at the time she went missing. What's the likelyhood that the parents managed to kill her, hide her successfully from the massive searches which went on, then went back to where she was hidden, dug her up and drove her off in the hired car ??? ALL done without the police, public or paperazzi seeing anything ??
