Thats an idea.BWFC_Insane wrote:During the last world cup English people in Scotland were beaten up for wearing England shirts or having an English flag.
The police warned people not to wear England shirts in Scotland.
The Scottish have an obsession with the English.
We SHOULD be one country. Yet Scotland wants to divide.
FFS next we'll be having "The Peoples Republic of Merseyside".

you don't haqve the economic structure to be self-funding - you'd probably lose both your banks for a start, let alone the question of oil, which you don't own nor would you be able to claim.American money in the large part you'll find. And when we say independent, that's what we mean, don;t know where you get your idea that we would require financial assistance from England, or that that has ever been a policy point?
Hindrance? We're paying for your universities, hospitals, unemployed. There's only 3 million tax payers in scotland don't forget, most of whom seem hell bent on running up the biggest health service bill they can with an intake of tennants super, bucky and fried food.communistworkethic wrote:No, Scotland has become a better little country that's hindrance from England is actually it's biggest problem.
The English would be perfectly happy for you to feck off on your own, so we can laugh at you fail, and you can take your Prime Minister with you too, and half the cabinet. At the moment you want it all-ways - Scottish laws for this, but not that, tax on this but not that, Scottish MPs and your own Parliament too.

Having been on the receiving end of quite a few anti-english tirades in my frequent visits to Scotland ( i go to Ibrox half a dozen times a year on average) i'd say the only ones i have had any vicious verbal assaults from have been the Celtic fans, regardless of whether i am wearing Rangers colours or not.
I think the hatred of this particular group of people knows no boundaries when it comes to the English.
The Scots in general are pretty much ok.

Oh Scottishlad, how I wish I could strangle jinxes like yourself tonight. When will you learn?fatshaft wrote:Now now Caps, you're confusing us with England. We do it one time and it's remembered forever, you do it every tournament.CAPSLOCK wrote:From

Always good for a major overhype followed by predictable non-achievement
FWIW, I wish scottishlad and his ilk would stfu. We've got two very tough games still to go, and we need 4 points, or 3 if we beat Itlay. Georgia gave us a massive scare at Hampden, it will be far from an easy game, and then we face an Italian side that will also need to win.
We've done superbly, and are topping a group containing the world cup finalists, but a miss is as good as a mile, and we're not there yet.

Watched Scotland last night.
Was very unimpressed.
No passion, desire or committment, hey they looked like England.
What is mighty frustrating as an England fan is that aside from perhaps their keeper not one of the Scottish players would get into the England side, yet (apart from last night) they play as a team do Scotland, and know they aren't very good but all work and scrap for each other.
If England would accept that they aren't actually that good in relative terms and played like Scotland do in terms of effort, togetherness and application the who knows where we'd get?

They did this on SSN before, Euro 1984 i think they settled on.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:Quarter-finals?
Depressing night last night, watching England lose then Scotland then N. Ireland scratch out a heroic draw, none of them set to qualify I'd say. When was the last time a home nation (or RoI) didn't reach a tournament? (And don't say this year's Copa America)
Tall order to beat Italy as they come to Hampden effectively only needing a point. (Think we can safely assume they'll beat The Faroes at home!) They are probably the world's best at playing for a draw when they need one and grabbing a goal on the break along the way if they can. Having said that, anything is possible for a team which has beaten France twice.
Being Anglo-Scottish I want both England and Scotland to qualify, but after last night, it's not looking good.
