Good luck Commie, hope to see even less of you after you've done your big run. Hope all goes well on the day and you get round the distance without your knees falling off.

Will keep everything crossed for you. My grandad suffered with several heart attacks and the help and care he got was partly funded by the British Heart Foundation they do a brilliant job and I hope the money you raise will assist someone else's relative at a time of need.

Think of Megan Fox in a bikini at the finish line and keep on running

Have a good one mate - just recreate the Nurofen cocktail that secured the TW Open for you and you'll be reet (if only you could arrange a few miles' headstart on the other competitors too eh? ;) )

Have a curry the night before, sprint into a lead and watch nobody wanting to get anywhere near you for the first 14 miles!

People have been known to take short cuts in this event although commie (good luck to him) is surely above that sort of chicanery.

Greetings from the apple shop on 5th avenue!!

well I did it!! slowly, very slowly in the end but I did it. I forwent any thoughts of a time a I ran with an english guy i met at the start and was determined we'd get through it together (even if he was a manc fan). And we did, all 26.2 miles, in spite of him struggling for 13 miles we got through it. at 17 miles i not so much hit the wall as had it, the three others and the roof fall on me.

see you next thursday. Good luck and enjoy the game to all going to munich!!!

Get in, Kid. Are you off when you get back?I'm off this week so golf beckons. Meanwhile, allow me to raise a sumptuous glass of Diamond Coast Shiraz by dint of respect!

Katie Holmes (Mrs. Tom Cruise) ran it in 5.5 hours - should think that might have kept Commie going. Did you see her?

Congrats btw.

I'm ever so pleased for you, Commie; well done, old chap.

Perhaps it is now time to retire? If a fit young lad like Ryan Shay can succumb to the pressure then what hope is there for the rest of us mere mortals?

More important, did he get tickets to MSG (not a great game I'm afraid - 2 goals and 2 fights between the goons)?
