One thing's for sure, it is an insult and should not be used.

The 'Hannoverians' idea is not credible because until the 1970s it was generally used as a term of abuse in scottish football, particularly aimed at celtic fans.

Nowadays it definately has a sectarian element for celtic fans, they reserve it for Rangers, Hearts and Dundee, Clubs who are percieved as representing the Protestant communities in their cities (rightly or wrongly).

Yes, I am a member of many forums, all of whom have open read access for unregistered members, not surprisingly that Rangers forum doesn't, I'm pretty sure the reason is obvious why they've done that.

And no I have never joined another team's forum to poke fun at them. Is that what Rangers fans do? It appears your mate however has no other reason for being here than spreading his bile?
