Just chillin

Post by Gertie » Fri Nov 16, 2007 12:27 pm

After some advice and recommendations for music that relaxes and chills you out? A friend lent me a cd of supposedly relaxation and meditation music but it was all stuff like Mull of Kintyre on the panpipes and stuff you get in lifts and it drove me mental.

My usual suspects of cheesey boybands and dodgy 80s groups have thrown up a few songs for my playlist, but so far it's a bit bare and was hoping for around an hour long playlist.

I have an i-tunes account ready to go - so any recommendations greatly received.

Tenniscoats - Totemo Aimasho

I'd stick clear of Dead Raven Choir's new one though.

LOL.

Adiemus is good for relaxing. I also rate The Cross of Changes by Enigma for an emotive experience.

Have a look at some Handel as well. One of the best composers IMO.

Anything by Clannad, particularly the Robin of Sherwood album (1980's)

Or try Echoes by Pink Floyd. It's the complete side two of an album called 'Meddle'

I love listening to Song to the siren by This Mortal Coil. If that doesn't chill you out, nothing will.
