Good effort after a poor start. Super test wicket.

Nine wickets down now for 354 and a forty minute break. Looks inevitable we'll win now. Just a matter of time. Anderson almost knocked the last guy sensless with one full in the vizor.

The tail end just took 24 off one over.

Remember the Edgebaston test against Australia? Surely we can't lose it now.

A good win for us, but I'm still a little suspect over our top order batting and some of our bowling against classier opposition.

Great tail-end fighting display by Southee in particular. More, some great cricket by NZ, than any real failings from us. They are a damn good side and played exceptionally well. The pitch was as dead as Tutankamun by the end. Good result.

Caught the highlights of the end of the NZ innings last night, and Southe's batting was superb. Wasn't just a case of luck - which sometimes happens when tail-enders get large scores - he was middling his shots and everything.

Looked a lot like a "new" Chris Cairns

Agree that his 6's weren't luck. you generally have to get at least a thick edge to carry a test match boundary. and it was good to watch. Would still suggest that there was generally plenty of space between bat and pad and not sticking a few yorkers in to some guy swinging from the arse was probably a mistake. :-)

Once watched Sidebottom bowl 11 wides in 2 overs (so he basically bowled 4 overs) in a one day game at OT for Yorkshire. Would never have thought in a million years the bloke would become our talisman bowler.

Aye, as an exfast-bowler, batsmen hate the one on the toes and are usually too concerned with just blocking it to score runs.
Surprising how many creep under the bat too.

Used to open here too TD :-) couple round the wicket at the back of his pads might not have gone amiss either - he kept heading off towards leg side...
