I doubt he'd have been any happier had he not moved on. Helping get teams promoted back to the Premiership isn't really his thing.

Indeed. I've said this in numerous threads but one more time won't hurt.

I personally (through perhaps biased maybe even blinkered eyes) think this is the worst decision of his career.

At Bolton he could have been an absolute hero, a legend (maybe even one of our biggest of all time, who knows) and always a star, a big fish in a small pond. He definitely bought into the ethos of the club, the camaraderie, the TEAM.

At Chelsea he'll always just be another expensive player amongst other stars, nobody special, as good as the rest.

Just like Tal Ben Haim who thought the grass was greener (who isn't even a bench warmer anymore) he's gone thinking of glory and money, the sad fact is that Drogba will always be ahead of him and he's never gonna be first name on the team sheet, unlike at Bolton where he was without a doubt our star player and the first name on the sheet (unless you're talking EUFA or other cups).

He could have stayed with us, helped keep us up (imagine how far adrift we'd be without his goals this season) and probably ended his career with us, as a legend. Instead he's proven he's a foreign mercenary, unable to settle for more than a few seasons.

He was absolutely brilliant for France against England, stand out player for them and yet come Sunday...he's on the bench.

Don't see him smiling like he did at Bolton anymore.

I think the Anelka bit is sad really but this bit is pure magic to my ears after some of the numptys on here rated him Gods gift to defence!!!
