Dean Ashton to Utd?
10 million sounds like alot of money to me for a striker that has only scored 11 times this season. I think he is a Kevin Davies with a few more goals in him

11 goals in how many games though? I really can't see the SKD comparison, fella. Ashton's technical abilties are awesome.mikegarbz6 wrote:10 million sounds like alot of money to me for a striker that has only scored 11 times this season. I think he is a Kevin Davies with a few more goals in him

True, but Ashton has no pace and is constantly picking up injuries.Bruce Rioja wrote:11 goals in how many games though? I really can't see the SKD comparison, fella. However, this is the way I expect the market to be.
Don't expect to buy ANY first team striker whos scored a few premiership goals under 30 from a premiership club for under 6-10M.

Strange rumours around Utd and strikers at the moment... wouldn't have thought that either Ashton or Michael Owen added much to their picture myself.

My mate (a rag for his sins) is utterly convinced that United need a "Big lad up front" to make them all-conquering. I totally disagree, but it appears this is apparantly Fergusons target for the summer.
Ashtons not a bad shout in all honesty - I think he's got ability on his side, and he didn't do his cause any harm by scoring that goal at OT. And in the current market, I don't think £10m is a great deal.

You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

they reckon they need a poacher in their armoury. tevez and rooney, whilst they play well together are remarkably similar players. plus i think utd had a fairly lucky season with regards to injuries.
saha is likely to be moved on (knock down price possibility i wonder?) so only right he'll be replaced. has someone told sir alex of that young pole lad at southampton? he's meant to be a decent fox in the box

Let us not forget, Herr Foster, that we once picked up this fat Icelandic kid after his ankle had got shot to pieces and he seems to be doing ok for himself. Ashton's technique is a fecking joy to behold and provides faith anew for any English football supporter. Ankle schmankle. He'll be reet.fozzy wrote:Ashton has suffered from injuries this season, but will much improved next year in my opinion. I doubt he'll ever reach his pre ankle break levels again, but you never know...
