Allardyce...QPR?

Yeah I watched it, and he was very pro-Bolton, and bigged up SKD as the player centre halfs most hated to play against in the whole prem.FD wrote:Assumption, nothing more.
No evidence to suggest he was ever gonna criticise on that show. If anything he was complimentary, saying he knew the lads and they wouldn't lay down for anyone.
Did anyone actually watch it or is everyone just assuming the worst of the best manager we've ever had?

A manager buys his own players. A coach, first-team or other, coaches them. Luigi de Canio didn't have any say in signings (according to the two Rs fans in our office) and probably neither will Dowie. It might suit him - always struck me as a coach/motivator. Wouldn't have suited Sam one bit. Who knows, perhaps preliminary talks were had but ended when it was made plain he wouldn't dictate or even influence transfer policy.Worthy4England wrote:Thought in this instance it was the same thing?Verbal wrote:Thought it were first team coach?

Quite so. Back to his first (managerial) employer too. There's something shit-or-bust about it. There's money to spend, but he won't get to choose on whom. As with so many teams in the Second Division - the least predictable league I know of - it could go all kinds of wrong or all kinds of right. Worst thing for him is that, as someone said about Allardyce, if the business plan works and he gets them up he'll be turfed out for someone "sexier". (Go on then, I'll set 'em up...bobby5 wrote:Crunch time for Dowie now. His reputation is plummeting.

You'll set them up with someone sexier?! Are you running some bizarre football Blind Date show?Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:Quite so. Back to his first (managerial) employer too.
