Is Summer really going to be this bad, no Footy/Euro 2008,

If you have a life outside of BWFC, then this is the place to tell us all about your toilet habits, and those bizarre fetishes.......

Is Summer really going to be this bad, no Footy/Euro 2008,

Post by Westhoughton Dave » Fri May 23, 2008 9:14 am

Having been at work yesterday, a colleague of mine (Liverpool Fan) and i were in the canteen bemoaning about the way that a certain Manc team seemed to have the refs help in some poxy match t'other night ..

You know what i am on about, ball gets knocked out by red player, red gets throw in, ball gets kicked out by red player, red goal kick, red player rakes face of blue player, nothing happens, red manager so in the face of the ref at the start of the second half that we would get arrested for assault! i could go on ...

Anyway, he was then moaning about the fact that theres now going to be no banter in the canteen for the next three months as the varied selection of teams who have supporters at my place all have nothing to argue about until August, and with no national teams in the Euro cup, there will be nothing to say about in that ..

I offered a small crumb of comfort in saying lets see how many players from each team could be booked or sent off .. but he wouldn't have it ...

So apart from transfer speculation, what the hell can we rib other teams about .. we've still got Megson, so we cant call anyone!

I'm going to hibernate this Summer and come back out in August for when our first game is on the way.

Hopefully by that time we'll have sacked Mugson, sold Nolan, Taylor, Steinsson etc and Vaz Te will be fit.

No, this summer's NOT going to be bad. Football isn't the be all and end all of sports, despite what people think.

We have:

The US Open and Open golf
Super League
Cricket test matches

And the Olympics later on

It will all be great.

I'll still be watching Euro 2008 even though England aren't in it - it's not as if there's no football.

There's nothing wrong with Nolan, Taylor or Steinsson.

Steinsson's fine, Taylor will be fine if he can get through the first 25 mins without looking like he's going to be sick. Nolan is fat

Euro 2008 will be a lot better than your average summer tournament, if only for the lack of car flags and people who think they're football experts because they have the new England top.

That said, rugby league is always the front runner in the summer.

Exactly , and we wont have to suffer Ian Wright , overcrowded pubs with the bandwagon brigade , the roony w*nk fest , the normal paper bull s*hite where Gerrard drones on how this is our year , no magazines or papers with Colleen whats her face and her cronies banging on about what colour handbag they have or how big their t*ts and we wont have to suffer the plastic rag brigade telling us how they dont support England ! In fact i will enjoy this years Euro's more :D

However , in the intrest of balance , i will miss haveing all the bandwagon jumpers bask in my superior football knowledge as right in front of their eyes i predict that England will bottle it during penalties

not really superior knowledge but a given really .... but they dont know

Haven't we got a Ryder Cup in there too somewhere? Or is that a bit later on?
