I guess if the troop carrying planes aren't working we could always "fight them on the beaches" errr - oh - that was the Germans wasn't it....36 days from invasion to capitulation, so a little more than a weekend maybe.

Well, he surely cannot be referring to the main troop carrying aircraft we use. That's the Hercules, and whilst they have a penchant for being shot out of the sky, a trait shared with most aircraft, they don't have a reputation for falling from the sky. The other troop carrying aircraft in theatre is the venerable TriStar. Now, whilst it is long by its sell-by date and I would hesitate to nip across to the Med in one, the TriStar has not yet gained a reputation for falling from the sky - yet.

who was that eurovision chap saying Wogan was ruining Eurovision and we should take it more serious? I've just seen hi-lights of Spain, Latvia, Bosnia and Russia, I'd suggest we were the only ones taking it seriously!

The fact Andy Binman came last just shows that as a competition it's just a joke.

anyway, let's concentrate on the eurobirds it throws up each year - fingers in ears people...
