No, my error Monty. Thinking aloud whilst my fingers were idle I fear.Montreal Wanderer wrote:Ah, sorry. You know that as soon as Panucci went down the linesman was praying for something like this to happen so he could get himself in the papers for making the RIGHT decision.

Greece v Sweden is the only game so far with any sort of Bolton connection with Stelios and Wilhelmson . Its half time and not the best game but Beglin really is a prize plonker !! Keeps slaggin the Greeks off for passin the ball around the back!! if it were Portugal they'd be creamin over it sayin its great Football!!! Not heard Ronaldo mentioned in this game yet but its ITV so only a matter of time
Life is not like a box of chocolates , it is infact , like a box of chuck norris roundhouse kicking you in the face. And if you recieve a box of chuck norris , you always know what your gonna get.

Can hardly imagine anybody saying thirty or so passes with no opposition within twenty yards was exciting, even Beglin.screech powers wrote:Greece v Sweden is the only game so far with any sort of Bolton connection with Stelios and Wilhelmson . Yeah but that does not garuntee it though ... look at Greece 4 years ago , look at Italy 2 years ago. Plus in previous years , the teams that start off like lightning out of the block tend to faulter , and the ones off to a slow start tend to be there or there abouts.... my tip is to look out for France!!

For a perfect example of this, look no further than, well Spain themselves two years ago. Steamrollered four past the Ukraine before cruising to a 3-1 win over Tunisia, only to go out in the next round.screech powers wrote:bwfc92 wrote:spain wil win it, they got the best 2 strikers in the tournament!

I noticed that too. England wouldn't have a hope in hell of winning that tournament.fatshaft wrote:Oh ffs, it just gets worse. As if we don't hear enough England comments, now Harry Redcrap says that if England were there then they'd be one of the five contedners.
Now guys, even as a load of English peeps, don't you think that's just taking things a little too far?

Elmander? Any opinions?
I didn't see enough of him to comment. Nothing too impressive though. Gimme Larsson instead!
Wilhelmsson didn't look too clever either. THe usual story. Looked busy and eager, but no end product....til he crocked himseif. Still the biggest disappointment of the season for me. Braaten= disappointment no.2. He may come good yet though...

Old 'arry is almost as big a prick as Benitez. Almost.fatshaft wrote:Oh ffs, it just gets worse. As if we don't hear enough England comments, now Harry Redcrap says that if England were there then they'd be one of the five contedners.

Seemed to be playing in midfield, seemed fairly anonymous...which is either good, in that he won't get his price hiked, or bad, as in he's sh*t.marshall_42 wrote:Elmander? Any opinions?

You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

Generally by grabbing a goal and making sure the opposition didn't.spraggy wrote: How the heck did Greece win in 2004?
Portugal V Greece R 1-2 - this was the high point.
Greece V Spain R 1-1
Russia V Greece R 2-1
So they sneaked in from Spain, not because they had more points, better GD or even better head to head result against Spain, but because more goals were scored in games involving Greece - 8 than games involving Spain (4)
From here it picked up...
France V Greece R 0-1
Greece V Czech Republic R 1-0 aet
Portugal V Greece R 0-1
Got to give them credit for beating Portugal twice in their own back yard and France
