Haha, Classics.

I can't wait, I've only played the course twice but I'm in pretty good form. 14 is about right I would have thought.
Bring it on!

Gentlemen: we're on.

Two fourballs have been booked for next Sunday at Regent's Park. The times are 10:30 and 10:40.

I'm out for dinner (or supper if you prefer) in Bowden on the evening prior and stopping over, so if anyone wants picking up on the way through then let me know.

Well I purposely booked plenty to accomodate a couple of late entries so you'll be more than welcome, I'm sure. Just sort out the necessary with the Handicap Chairman and we're off. :D

I hit the ball well yesterday, which bodes well for Weds and Thurs round Wittelsbacher G.C. in Germany, as it's very much a 'drivers'' golf course.

Putting was a bit shite though and the whole thing was made pretty tough by the fact that the ground was baked hard.

You want to try playing Portrush or Castlerock links courses when they've had no real rain for almost 6 weeks... the fairways were brown, scorched and hard as concrete... At least the rough wasn't its usual horrific self - still pretty mean, though.

A few weeks ago I'd've had more confidence after going round Arrowe Park in 94 and what could easily have been a few less, but those Irish courses were pretty tough and my game went to bits in places - some awful drives, mostly.

Yeah, I have played a lot of great links courses, but only really in the winter months mainly. Though Royal Liverpool is pretty tough when it's firm and the bunkers just seem to gather everything and nothing sticks to the greens.

How do our Merseyside/Wirral correspondents rate Hoylake municpal? Played there once and hated every second, though it was in a howling gale.
