EURO 2008

There ARE other teams(we'd have no-one to play otherwise) and here's where all-comers can discuss the wider world of football......

Admittedly had the Sweden game on in the background but like you Warty I thought Elmander looked okay. Can't see him getting 15 goals but who knows.

Did he play right side at one point or were they two up top? As I say, had it on in the background.

The one thing I did see was him missing a chance I felt he should have scored.

He seemed to be on the right side of midfield for most of the time.

One or two good touches and some decent movement now and then, but nothing exceptional. Then again if he was, we'd be outbid. And like you say, he should have scored or played the ball square to team mates who were in a better position.

I didn't think I'd imagined it.

Thing is, he's definitely not a bad player but I find myself hoping he has a shit tournament because if he so much as scored a goal we'd have no chance. When he missed the one he should have scored I almost cheered!

I wouldn't be disappointed if we signed him, but I might be disappointed if he was signed as the answer to our attacking problems.

Yes, we need a good player who has a bad tournament. Then again it can happen the other way round, which is how Liverpool got lumbered with Milan Baros.

Our "cough" potential new striker is just taking the field/touchline as bench guardian against the Delights. :|

Weren't we linked with Jan Koller at some point in the past? He's just scored and has looked like a really decent centre forward, Kevin Davies-esque.

Shame he's 35 but to be honest I'd rather him that Baros.

Six feet-seven tall, three feet wide and built of pig-iron.....and goes down a papier mache puppet. Not to be compared at all with KD.

Scored a goal too...I now see the error of my ways :D

I've seen more games than I can remember but I think the last 20 minutes of that game may well be the most entertaining minutes of any game I've ever seen, ever.

Would you adam and eve it. 2-0 down and going nowhere fast, the Turks score three in the last 15. Cech makes a howler and the Turkish keeper gets sent off for good measure. Awesome.

What a crazy game. Czechs one up and coasting at half time, go two up and sit back;job done. Turkey get a goal, then Cech makes a real blunder and Turkey are level. Two minutes later it's 3-2 Turkey and the Czechs get their goalie sent off in extra time. Yellows flying all over the place and Baros gets one from the subs bench. Crazy stuff.

fecking BRILLIANT quote from the commentary team too after Baros got a yellow on the bench :

"If a flying saucer landed on the pitch now I wouldn't be suprised".

WHAT a game...absolutely brilliant.

Impressed with the tourney so far on the whole, only 2 bad games to date for me.

Typical of Cech lately. Why people keep on labelling him the best goal keepr in the world, I don't know. He was superb 18 months ago but has been ordinary since.

Great game btw :)

Even if I was stood in the techincal area, I very much doubt I could get one of these to land on the pitch.

Cracking game second half though. I'm glad Turkey didn't settle for penalties - the Czechs were on the ropes. It'll take a fantastic strike to beat the last one for goal of the tournament.

It was an amazing game towards the end and overall a crap season for Peter Cech.

Bit disappointed to come back and read some of the reports on the anti-Howard Webb abuse. Coming from high profile people as in their Head Coach and Prime Minister I don't think indicating you want to kill the ref is a great move. Surprised Platini hasn't clamped down harder on the comments (the actual comment isn't on the beeb, can't find it now)

Been a good tournament but still miffed that we're not there.

He's not been the same since that horrible little c*nt Steven Hunt did him in has he. Not that I mind, just saying :)

Also a bit disappointed at the abuse toward Webb, made the right decision in my book.
