Murray is through so I guess he is still British.

I thought she had both reasons.

Dangerous player, but I really can't see him winning it.

And she couldn't get out of it this time... she crashed out 6-1, 6-4 to Zheng, who played out of her boots. Ivanovic looked tired though... perhaps the win at Roland Garros has caught up with her.

All about Nicole Vaidisova now on the women's side, chaps!

Pretty much, but Gisela Dulko is still in the draw too...

Elsewhere, Ancic is two sets up on Ferrer and Safan has taken the first set against Seppi. Unbelievable standard of play in the match and its great to see Marat somewhere near back to his best.

Cracking play from Murray today, his drop shots were more carefully measured and chosen and his focus was excellent. Think he will get past Gasquet but Nadal will have a bit too much for him.

Safin at 40-1 at Betfair. Well worth a flutter- if he plays to full potential he can beat Federer or Nadal.

Have to disagree, Dax.

I honestly can't see past a Nadal v Fed final.

Yeah, I'm about 99 per cent sure that will be the case, but if you're looking for an outsider to bet on- and with those odds, then Safin is the man IMO.

Great fightback from Murray, though had to feel sorry for Gasquet towards the end, he just looked fed up. However, Murray'll be the proverbial lamb to Nadal's slaughter on Wednesday.

Interesting day.

Ancic v Verdasco was an epic. Both of them played some terrific tennis, but ultimately Commie's man Ancic showed he could go the distance winning in 5 sets, 13-11 in the 5th! The first time he served for the match though, he lost his service game to love - can't afford that sort of slip up against RF or RN. I think it is fair to say that Ancic is as much of a danger to the top 2 as anyone though, even if a winner from outside them is very unlikely (unless there are injuries).

Murray... great fightback. Can't help but admire his self belief, and he's come a long long way with his conditioning. Of course, the momentmum of the match and the baying crowd helped, but Murray looked far stronger than Gasquet in the 5th, who is himself a top player. Still, I'm looking forward to Rafa giving him a roasting. I just hope Nadal doesn't wake up tomorrow morning with his knee in a bad way after injuring it on court today.

And another good win for a resurgent Safin.
