I thought Fabregas made a huge difference in the second half. There wasn't much between them till he came on. Once Spain scored Russia were decidedly clueless. Whoever's got an expensive pre-contract agreement with Arshavin will be a bit worried on that non-performance.TANGODANCER wrote:TANGODANCER wrote:It's Spain v Germany, Im telling ya.
Same three impressed me as in their last game: Senna, Sergio Ramos and Pujol. Immense display of skilful football from Spain and clinical finishing. Man of the match , Silva, hands down.
I wouldn't say no to Senna in the unlikely event that he begged to play for us, although I have heard he doesn't take corners too well. (Tasteless F1 joke -

Re-match of Guernica rather than Stalingrad then...
My tip for the final? Torres won't start the game - he looked like he'd never seen a ball before tonight, let alone earned his living playing with one. That Guiz-thingy chappie will play.
Didn't hear the Clive Tydlesly commentary, though I assume he must have been a complete tw*t.

You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

Judging from what you wrote can't imagine you would have liked the commentary. Dear Clive spent the vast majority of the match praising young Torres, seemed close to tears when he was subbed off.Lord Kangana wrote:Re-match of Guernica rather than Stalingrad then...![]()

Spain have been very astute with their use of subs. Fabregas was a classic example. I thought Torres did well enough in troubling the defence whenever he could; of the twto Torres/Guiza, I'd take Torres anytime personally. Guiza came on in the last couple of games fro tired legs and it worked very well. 3-0 against a decent Russian side shows just how well.Lord Kangana wrote:Re-match of Guernica rather than Stalingrad then...![]()

Si Deus pro nobis, quis contra nos?
He's got a decent enough shot on him, but he's rubbish at free-kicks, too - always a crashing drive into the wall.Little Green Man wrote:I wouldn't say no to Senna in the unlikely event that he begged to play for us, although I have heard he doesn't take corners too well. Come on Blurred, "always a crashing drive into the wall"? Last game alone he hit two stunning shots that went very close. Liverpool would have him gladly given the chance, and you know it. Credit where it's due hey?blurred wrote:He's got a decent enough shot on him, but he's rubbish at free-kicks, too - always a crashing drive into the wall.Little Green Man wrote:I wouldn't say no to Senna in the unlikely event that he begged to play for us, although I have heard he doesn't take corners too well. I think that one might have sailed over your head, Tango - it was another F1 reference.TANGODANCER wrote:Come on Blurred, "always a crashing drive into the wall"? And as for the point - would I have him over Mascherano? No ta. Handy enough player for the squad, though.
