in reply to everyone slating mock the week, i'd recommend watching the 'mock the week, too hot for tv' dvd. imo, the comedians best material isn't suitable to be broadcast at 9pm thursday, and it all goes into that dvd! i think it's knocking about on youtube somewhere and is definatley worth watching.
Shame he got involved with the Phoenix crew as this guy is actually funny, most of the material was his. If you can get hold of it have a look at his early Stand Up when he was doing the rounds in the Comedy Store.Bruce Rioja wrote:An embarrassment to our town. Has he ever come out with anything even remotely funny? See also, Dave Spikey.ThePosterFormerlyKnownAs wrote:That other git from Max and Paddy. McGuinness or sumert.
I'll have to disagree with you on Jimmy Carr though. Seen him a couple of times at The Apollo and thought that he was very good on both occasions. That said, I don't watch him on TV.
I saw Dave Spikey on his latest tour in Warrington a few months back.
It wasn't very good in all honesty. Which is a shame, because his 'red dvd' is quite good.
As for piss poor comedians.....
Catherine Tate
Al Murray
Andy Parsons
Paddy McGuiness
Not so keen on Gervais' standup
Nor do I like Billy Connolly...
Michael McIntyre
Jonny Vegas
One comedian I'll never understand the hype about is Bill Bailey. Yeah, quite funny at times, but not arena sellout tour funny. Clearly I'm in the minority here...

Surprised nobody's mentioned Alan Davies. He's about as funny as piles & is cheating a living without don't.
Also he hates BWFC with a passion because we are the northern upstarts who have on occassion
been known to give his beloved Arsenal a bloody nose. Cost them a League title, knock them out of cup competitions. How dare we !!

I remember he once wrote an article in some Sunday rag or other after we'd played Arsenal at t'Reebok, about how terrible it was that we sang nasty songs about them, when they played such lovely football and that.wovlad wrote:Surprised nobody's mentioned Alan Davies. Was'nt just the once he wrote it either pretty sure he sprouted his drivel a couple of season's running.Puskas wrote:I remember he once wrote an article in some Sunday rag or other after we'd played Arsenal at t'Reebok, about how terrible it was that we sang nasty songs about them, when they played such lovely football and that.wovlad wrote:Surprised nobody's mentioned Alan Davies.
