Well in the Wanderers colours i would have to say;
Jay Jay, Youri and Hierro are all clear winners
Everyone else hmmm;
That dirty geezer Christiano Ronaldo
and that posh frenchy Terry Henry are just two of a number of stars i have seen in recent years.

Must have been the 5-0 thrashing we handed Ancona, who i remember rightly had only just ben relegared from Serie A. Keith had done his knee ligaments against Derby a few weeks before the Brescia game iirc.Lord Kangana wrote: It may be cos he was a sub, or it may have been against Anconna, but it was deffo Branagan. The fact we sang ooh aah Branagan whilst he did it is the dead give-away

Okocha was mindblowingly good on the ball, yet the clever play of Heirro and Youri was a joy to behold. Some of the freekicks Fernando sent in...
Outside Bolton? W*nker that he is, Cristiano Ronaldo does things with a football most other players cannot dream of.

Against us in no order
Shearer
Bergkamp
Henry
Vieira
Keane
Scholes
C.Ronaldo
RVN
Oliver Kahn
Franck Ribery on those 3 performances.
Luis Figo
One day maybe we can say we saw Sergio Aguero make a prat of himself.

Though he was still pretty handy, remember being impressed with his touch and movement even in the 0-0 when Marseille played that ridiculous negative system.

saw all brazil's games
so Pele and Eusebio has to be very high on the list.

I don't think Brazil ever lost when Pele and Garrincha (sp?) were in the same team. They both played against Bulgaria, but Pele missed the second against Hungary and Garrincha the third against Portugal, and they lost both. Bit of a disappointment really. The quarterfinal between Portugal and Korea was fun and looked like a big upset at half time - did you get to see that one?bw@bw wrote:me tooMontreal Wanderer wrote:I saw Pele against Bulgaria (brutal swines they were) and against Eusebio's Portugal in 1966. so good you named yourself twice CWE?
Gullit for me, though it may have had something to do with the standard of our team when we played against him, he was phenomenal, first touch, the passes he sprayed about, what a legend.
Youri runs him close though.
Seen Henry, Ribery and Ronaldo in their primes, Arshavin I suppose as well a couple of years ago. Hierro, Okocha for tricks, all worthy of mentions. Oh - Jeremy Goss as well.
