It was hard enough winning games in the old ones, jesus Batty!

Seems a rather late release date though, season will be nearly half done!

worth it though

3d match engine too, looks ace.

it'll be harder on this new one FD, considering my 'reappraisal' of some of our squad

So how much have you estimated Davo's worth at?

Looks like I'll be using the editor before playing!

untouched

however, there is an option to move players from 'slim', to 'stocky', to 'overweight'

took a lot of self control to leave that well alone for the odd player

It's been crying out for some three-d-ism for a while. Only prob is that the glimpses we got on the vid didn't really show a lot - buggers. I've still got the original and Champ Man 2 somewhere (which is about the last time that I won owt on it)

Totally unimpressed by the 3D. There was a reason CM/FM came out of the crowd and became the biggest manager game of them all, and a lot of it was down to the fact that it didn't have a clunky 3D engine clogging things up. It's just not FM. I'll give it a go, but i reckon i'll be sticking with 2D.

The rest looks quality though. Whens the Demo out?

looking forward to giving it a go, it's got gradually better as a game since they introduced the 2d in cm4 (which was a hideous version)

gonna have to crack open the editor firstly though, considering who our head researcher is

Apparently demo is due 2 weeks before the release date.

Not keen on the 3D myself, doesn't seem neccesary at all, you'll be playing the matches yourself in 2011 at this rate.

the 3d isn't necessary, you can change it back

at the end of the day, 2d or 3d, the main thing is whether the match engine continues to show signs of resembling a proper football match with intelligent ai on the pitch, hopefully the public beta testing for fm live will have helped in this regard as i hear that it has

Just think it's pointless and time wasted during development.

Regarding FM LIVE, I'm a beta tester for it and I'm really not keen on it! Has a lot of good stuff but a lot of bad ideas too.

It went downhill when they changed to 2D.

well it is a very realistic game :)

anyway

- 3D Match Experience: A work in progress for 3 years apparently, this year will see the debut of the 3D match engine in FM. You will still be able to choose 2D if you prefer however. Miles himself said that he found himself flicking back and forth between both of them throughout a game.

- Timeline bar added during match play, so you can rewind stuff at will etc.

- Assistant manager feedback during a game, on motivation(players motivation during a match), and general feedback like how your tactics are working, how the opposition are exploiting your tactics, or how you COULD be exploiting theirs etc.

- A new "regen/newgen" system, after the many, many problems in previous football managers. This will hopefully fix the issue where the skills of the majority of new players deterioate drastically in previous FMs.

- Inclusion of trial days, where you get invited to a trial day to watch a bunch of young players on trial.

- New transfer system. Transfer rumours section too. They rewrote the system from scratch, and "hopefully you'll see the game predicting more real life transfers".

- Press conferences are in the game, and happen before and after matches and when you first get a job.

- Option to ask players to learn special moves(aka preferred moves).

- You can play as a female manager.

- The whole confidence system has been improved drastically. Squad harmony and stature also added into that.

- Spent a lot of time working on the financial areas, to try and model them more correctly to real life.

- Widescreen support.

finally, storming out of press conferences, adding your own lines!

Can't wait, it looks good. Not sure about female managers though - though it was meant to be realistic....

3D looks good - I'm in the "feature that I always wanted" camp - but suspect it will lead to a new watercooled processor and MB somewhere along the line....and they need to get the players looking like they're not floating above the ground...

So Davo's worth about £6m and an all-round legend. Joey'O rotting in the reserves and Nobby worth about £2m with fitness issues. Looks like i'll be buying Champ Man this time
