No, for once there's no Scottish aspect to this. It is a superb motor, although having had the pleasure of a rally day last year, and driven both the Scooby and Evo, the Evo is much much better, but that's on a track, for day to day the Subaru is a better car.Bruce Rioja wrote:Hmmm. Okay, sounds like this guy had the full wally kit, but Pru seems to be ranting against all Subarus in general now. Surely if you want a wankers car, there's far better examples, Audi TT or a Boxster for starters?

Ah, but aren't the f*ckwits that drive around in kitted-out Subarus simply jealous of those that can afford to drive around in more expensive cars?fatshaft wrote:Okay, sounds like this guy had the full wally kit, but Pru seems to be ranting against all Subarus in general now. I do think folk who drove normal Subarus are...well....a little bit wankerish, though no more so than your folks who drive other ostentatious cars. Theres nothing wrong with having a nice car, as long as youre not just being a flash tw*t. However Captain Cockend today was on another level. I did a little sick in my mouth when he drove past, and swear words went through my mind like the symbols on a bandit machine.
EDIT: by normal Subarus i do mean Imprezas, if you are a farmer and you have a Subaru 4x4 fair enough. If you aren't a farmer, and you have a Subaru 4x4, WHAT THE FECK ARE YOU DOING?!?!?!

If you were talking to Mr Prufrock you might be right Tango, although the thing i follow that live how u wanna live stuff with is 'as long as it doesnt affect anyone else'. This affected me! It made me feel irrational hatred, and i dont like that. Mr vicious (my superhero alter-ego) hates the ostentatious bastardness of it as a symbol of this 'look at me, look what i own ' culture. pisses me right off. bling can feck off and die too. As for envy no. If he had a nice car i would be envious, instead he has a fantastic piece of technological endeavour, if a LITTLE excessive by the tough tough terrain of Chorley (all those roundabouts!), and had had a metaphorical loudspeaker installed shouting to everyone about how much of a blind materialistic fool he was.

Slow down on the ear smoke, Prufrock, after all it might just have been one of those mickeyed up units that dealers sometimes stick in the showroom as promotional material. Maybe, perhaps. I only say that because I really cannot believe that there is any wally silly enough to source and then plaster his perfectly reasonable car with such nonsense.
Then again there is the proliferation of blue lights around my neck of the woods (am I the only one who hates the bloody things or am I just unlucky and am sensitive to the frequency they use?). I have no idea whether the things work - as headlights or driving lights or fog lights - but so many of their owners drive around with them turned on night and day, regardless of the weather. Cretins.
