I thought she was the best thing about the show. Giving it one more episode, then sacking it off if it doesn't improve.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:Now Gina McKee's a very good actress. I know Lisa Millett (for it was she, and funnily enough looking slimmer than in previous publicity shots available on t'web) was given a hog's arse of a script, one which was always going to be a struggle to render realistic, but I don't think she did too well in the emotional scenes. Anyways, good luck to her and all involved, but I won't be watching next time.William the White wrote:i know this is absurd, but we spent some time - actually only a few seconds, I guess, though I continued to ponder, stupidly, right the way to the end - wondering if she was a suddenly taken on weight Gina McKee. I thought she gave the best acting in the show though. Liked her. Two more episodes to go. I'm torn between redemption and suicide for our hero. But, since it's BBC1 veering towards redemption.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:easily the best entertainment was trying to figure out whether the female lead – no great shakes, but shackled by some awful writing – was Katherine Parkinson off The IT Crowd. (It wasn't.)
Coogan should stick to character driven comedy and mimicry.

Shining like a stainless steel spoon in shite? I seem to be in the minority, which isn't unusual, but I thought her timing was off, her emoting plastic, her acting generally unbelievable. But I'd give her another chance with a decent script. So, in another show, then.
As you say thoiugh she was quite possibly the best actor in it, except for Craig Cash playing Craig Cash, a role he does strangely well.

I didn't think it was too bad at all to be honest (late joining the discussion, I know!). With it being the Beeb, he's clearly heading for redemption but got to feel for the lad when they did the dirty on him near the end, even when considering how the money was obtained in the first place.
Thought the lass did a good job though a bit wooden at times from Coogan.

This (your) night time I shall be watching the Bathurst 1000 (aka The Great Race, or simply Mt Panorama). 1000 Km - 161 laps - of a devilish race track located just west of the mountains in which I live. The track is therefore about 6.2Km in length. The main straight (Conrod straight) is a tad shorter than 2 Km in length, slightly down hill (with some dips and rises) and is where the V8s attain a speed of 298 Km/h before the governors take over.
There are parts of the circuit involving grades up to 1:6, some of which are downhill. I have driven the circuit (legally of course - it's a public road at other times) and it is incredible to think of the stresses and strains involved on the cars and drivers. Lap times are in the <2'10" area whilst qualifying times tend to the high 2'06" and low 2'07"; that's an average speed of around and about 170 Km/h.
Incidentally I don't watch motor racing for the thrill of crashes; in fact when they happen it sickens me. Nevertheless I must mention that Paul Radisich, he who participated in the UK's 2-litre series a few years ago, was injured in yesterday's practice session. Luckily he's still alive and, considering the situation, is lucky to be so. Anyhow, about half an hour to go 'til the off so I'd best check my grog and nibble levels prior to taking my seat in the front row.

So it said in the Leigh Journal this week, but they don't seem to be focusing on her too much on the show because she isn't an attention seeker and doesn't have a sob story.Athers wrote:She's the favourite now.Daxter wrote:All the judges loved her.Leyther_Matt wrote:Saw most of the X Factor tonight but fecked off upstairs on the computer before the lass from Atherton came on - anyone else see how she did?
Amazed that they can drag a results show to a 45 minute job though!
