We use shovels for walkways, not road ways. This from my university, which should make you feel better about your light dusting of snow:Worthy4England wrote:Get out there with a shovel like every other poor bugger - lazy sod.Montreal Wanderer wrote:(note the guy ploughing driveways is going the wrong way on a one way street and has to back up).

From the BN web site.
Two lanes closed due to serious accident on M62 Eastbound between J11 A574 (Birchwood) and J12 M60 / M602 (Eccles Interchange). Lanes two and three closed (Of three) due to an accident where a lorry went through the central reservation. There is a full closure in place on the Westbound carriageway.

It all depends on what you are used to - we get it every year and are prepared - snow tyres, indoor parking and an underground city (you can walk miles in Montreal underground), double glazing, central heating, etc. etc. You get it infrequently so are caught out.SuperWhiteWarrior wrote:I thought the weather here was bad, I think different now by looking at that picture.

Forgot to add the shovel. If it snows tonight on top of the crunch stuff already down it ain't going to be fun tomorrow. I waited thirty five minutes for a bus home tonight.mummywhycantieatcrayons wrote:TANGODANCER wrote:Forecast for tomorrow in the north-west is 4/8 inches of snow. Same in londres...as cloudless as it gets in central london today, yet standing on the roof opposite the treasury watching queenie pass by was not worth the bone chilling temperature.mummywhycantieatcrayons wrote:TANGODANCER wrote:Forecast for tomorrow in the north-west is 4/8 inches of snow.
