If this is what makes their title challenge go off the rails it would be doubly sweet. It could all go a bit Leeds!!

The club have come out saying that they'll back him. Presumably that means t-shirts, and the Kop given a banner saying "Stevie's Innocent" for the next time they're on the telly

I this were me or you, yes, but there's more chance of Ronaldinho saying he wants a transfer to Bolton than Stevie Gerard going to jail.

I'll have a pint of whatever Prufrock's on. In fact, make it a half, that'd be enough to mess my head good and proper...

... and tha's WITHOUT the mysterious withdrawal of charges, collective amnesia and the oddly swollen foreign private bank account of anyone who may have otherwise given evidence.

Anyway, Stevie Me will have witnesses to say he was asleep in bed at the time.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Im allowed to dream right?! It's how Leeds started the slow slide, though admittedly there might been a FEW other MINOR factors :D

Yeh, but Barton didnt bloody well serve 8 months, or anywhere near, and had previous, and then had his Dabo one suspended, and he's nothing compared to Stevie Me, if he goes to jail i will literally eat the biggest hat in the hat shop.

Anyway... I was in that Lounge Inn back in the summer when I was in Birkdale for the week for the Open Golf. Seemed a pretty ordinary place to me, and not where you'd expect to bump into somebody on Gerrard's money.

I was in Southport a couple of weeks back looking for somewhere to frequent until the small hours and could only find a Weatherspoons after traipsing up and down town in the hail. When I heard about Gerrard getting in trouble at a club there I assumed he must have attacked some old dear who called a 'full house' when he only had 2 numbers to go. It's possibly the most miserable place in the world in winter.

Surprised he's been overlooked for a Knighthood. Screwed his chances now though. :|

It was pretty miserable during Open week... though the weather was pretty awful then too. On the news coverage of this Southport has been described as being some sort of upmarket holiday town... difficult to agree with that description today, even if the Lord Street of 150 years ago is said (mainly by the locals & tourist board) to have been the inspiration for the Champs-Élysées. :D

Did you have a walk on the front when you were there? There's a lot of money being spent on putting up new hotels and the like... maybe a renaissance is in the offing, but I can't imagine those hotels being full, apart from when there's an Open or something...

Maybe that's why he was there? Canapes every night gets a bit boring after a while.

Tried it have you? :D

I suppose the kind of thing I might be getting at is that there's always a danger of getting involved in a scrap if you mix with the hoi polloi when you're a rich and famous as he is...

They've got to at least be in the same club as some of the common people, or they've nowbody to be considered V.I. compared to. Couldnt have them not being able to lourd it over the masses from behind the safety of a rope.
