Or not...

Firstly, I wasn't sure wether to put this in general banter or not, but whatever.

It's a video I made from some footage me and a friend took playing football the other day. Before any criticism is thrown in my direction, i'm fully aware that I'm not a great footballer, although some of my skills on the video are rather dashing!

Who knows, if sammy lee gets back in to management, I may get a contract if he sticks to his youtube scouting network i.e. wilhelmsson, braaten.

Anywho, enjoy, maybe..

and yes, I'm aware that I spelt starring wrong!

EDIT: the quality is crap for a short while at the beggining, not sure why

Not bad. Who's the mop-haired one wearing number 11 on his back? Shows some really good skills, enough for me to consider giving him a trial to see other aspects of his game. Although he looks like he's scared of the ball when he's heading it!

Without making it sound like I'm crucifying your work (because I do like it, the football and the editing) if you're going to use We Will Rock You, the bit when the guitar revs up is made for a good old twatting of the ball once the lay off is used to great timing.

I would be the 'mop haired' one! And yes, i'm terrified of the ball hitting my head. What if I miss judge it and it takes an eye out!

The original video I did had the ball getting twatted after the chord rings out, but i decided I'd rather just put more stuff of me doing skills!!!

Is that because you spooned the strike?

The only real pointer I can give you on the heading is to try and relax your arms, be on your toes, and the rest of the body should follow. You look a little too rigid as the ball comes down, and that means you have a little trouble adjusting yourself to the flight of the ball. Other than that, very good touch.

Some good tricks mate! However in my experience the boys with all the tricks are the ones who never shine in open play!!

in response to keeeeeeebaaaaaaab, cheers, will keep that in mind!

in response to boris, cheers, and yeah you're probably right, i haven't played a competive 11-a-side match for about 5 or 6 years! I think my next video will have more than just tricks, I'll have to show off some 'real' stuff. Cue many many takes!!

Heh. See you tried the Head Stall (catching the ball on your forehead). Mastered it yet? It's my favourite current trick, that. Got to the stage where I can catch the ball on my foot, flick it up to my head, hold for a few seconds and then drop back onto my foot. Just need tohe consistency now. Not useful in any way, but fun to get hold of.

I was suprised girls don't find such tricks appealing? My missus gets embarassed when I start juggling in JJB

That's quality :) wish I could do tricks like that...I can probably manage a few dozen keepy uppys but after that I'm done for. Like boris, just don't have quick enough feet. Still, I guess that isn't exactly a pre-requisite for a centre half :)

My missus is always telling me off when I start playing keepy uppy when having a park kickabout with my daughter. "Whose benefit are we here for?" is the usual question, followed by "Is Daddy showing off?" towards the Kebabling.

There's a great new trick out that's all the rage. You run up to the ball and smack it, straight as a die into the back of the net. Not half as hard as juggling or aerobics with a football, but mastering it could actually get you a job in the game. Well worth a try.
