It's like this. Nolan was a passenger yesterday. In fact he has been a passenger for too many games. If the deal is right I think we can find better. The guys got a turning circle of an articulated lorry, sits on his heels, can't jump or tackle and struggles passing. If we make a few million quid for him, I won't be too sorry to see him go.FD wrote:It won't be for Barton.
You don't swap your club captain for a player who is out for 2 months and a scallywag at that.
“The fans reaction should be thrown at us too because we’re the ones on the pitch. They’ve paid to come here today so they’ve got a right to say what they want but, as the captain, I can say all the players are right behind the manager.”
Thats the captain speaking a while ago, the same captain people are wanting to drive to Toon right now.
Bolton fans...
Plenty of folk are bemoaning the fact he makes the team, automatically replacing a plyer who's had two decent games covering him.
He'll be thanked, but not missed

Agreed a fee quick enough, didn't we? Let's hope it's not as preposterously low as the initial reports suggest.Tombwfc wrote:It would seem to me that it's more likely that Nolan has just got fed up with getting abuse and has asked to be able to speak to Newcastle, as opposed to Megson systematically dismantling the team for a laugh. Why play Nolan last night if he'd fallen out with him and wanted shot?
Good luck to Nolan. He's been in poor form (and was shit yesterday) but has given his all for the club and has held the team together at times it's looked as though it's about to fall apart. He deserves better than what he gets, and so he's better off out of it. He's been treated like shit for years.
Be careful what you wish for indeed. This whole c*nt brigade of 'Megson Out' is going to come a self fulfilling prophecy. Give the players and the manager abuse up to the point where they just don't give a shit anymore, and then they can say 'I told you so' when we get relegated. Great. I'm almost past caring myself, Megson, Nolan and Gartside should just give the fans what they want and all leave, and then we'll see where we end up. Somewhere near shit creek i reckon. Hopefully if we do get relegated those hurling abuse will clear off and go support Wigan.
If that is the case I will be mightly pee'd off! I would be happy with 4.5 minimum, but 3mil is a joke. Did they pay something like that for Guthrie?NWhiteley wrote:Just £3mil according to reports... http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/nufc/new ... -22813845/
You've totally misunderstood what I was inferring, but nevermind.CrazyHorse wrote:wtf are you two on about?Nobbys Belly wrote:He'd better emigrate more like!FD wrote:If Nolan goes and we don't sign Veloso, instead we get another Rasiak... Megson better have good security, thats all I'm thinking.
The signing of Veloso is out of Megsons hands. In fact it went out of his hands the second he told Gartside he was interested.
But lets not let the opportunity of another Megson witch hunt pass us by.
A Megson witch hunt? What are you on about?
We've agreed a fee for our captain and we're ALREADY short on attacking midfielders. Unless we've got something spectacular to pull out of the bag, this is a bad move.
There's a huge difference between dropping someone to the bench, to send them a message and selling them to a relegation rival.hisroyalgingerness wrote:Plenty of folk are bemoaning the fact he makes the team, automatically replacing a plyer who's had two decent games covering him.

He'll be missed by me, he's a superb ambassador for the club, I'll miss him if he goes.

3million for a player who has been out of form for years, out of fitness (if you ask some), and has one of the worst disciplinary records in the league? Yes please, provided we get a replacement.enrdentw wrote:If that is the case I will be mightly pee'd off! I would be happy with 4.5 minimum, but 3mil is a joke. They state that City offering them 5M for Givan is like spitting in their eye, then offer 3M for our club Captain.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:Good homework, NW. Terrible business, BW.NWhiteley wrote:Just £3mil according to reports... http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/nufc/new ... -22813845/
You've got to give it to the Geordies.

I'd say that saying he'd better have good security or should emigrate because we may theoretically not sign a player when it really isn't anything to do with Gary Megson is along the lines of a witch hunt, yeah.FD wrote:You've totally misunderstood what I was inferring, but nevermind.CrazyHorse wrote:wtf are you two on about?Nobbys Belly wrote:He'd better emigrate more like!FD wrote:If Nolan goes and we don't sign Veloso, instead we get another Rasiak... Anyway, moving on.
If we are only getting £3mil for Nolan, it seems that the rest of the footballing world don't rate him too highly either. Where's the bidding war?

Was more what I was reffering too, on the whole I have been pro megson, he saved us last year and has stabilised the mess that little sam left behind. My point is that by selling a midfielder who is currently in the first team regardless of who they are and not replacing them. (a Midfield we all acknowledge as being short of a player or two) Is near suicide and could potentially undo all the hardwork of the last 18 monthsCrazyHorse wrote:wtf are you two on about?Nobbys Belly wrote:He'd better emigrate more like!FD wrote:If Nolan goes and we don't sign Veloso, instead we get another Rasiak...
