f*ck me
i know he's been predominantly shite for 2 years but he's worth 3 joey bartons, and they knocked back £5 million?
well the morons are having their way
megson next
then gartside
and we'll be managed by jimmy phillips in league 1 soon enough
still at least all the JCLs then will be happy with 3rd round of the FA Cup and not expect top 6 every year
£3 million is effectively £1 mil tops in the market of two years ago
and he's going cos he's fed up i bet, and megsons given in to his mate, which i can sort of understand given the full peice here - http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/footbal ... 858772.stm

Fee reported as 4.4 mill on Skysports.
Think this might be a good move for Nolan to move his career on. Unfortunately he's gone stale with us.
I'm sad to see him go. Been a great servant to the club and I will remember him as one of the top players this club has had in my 40 years of watching.
Good luck Kevin. I think we may miss you more than we think.

Gutted. I know he's not been in the best of form over the last couple of season but still gutted.
Going off the snippets of information I've picked up from here, I can only presume that for £3million Nolan has stated he wants to leave. And TBH I don't really blame him. Bad business for us though. The Nicky Butt rumour seems very plausible, but doesn't fill me with much confidence.

The Sherpa Van Trophy! We've won it one time!
I apologise that I wasn't clearer. What I'm saying is that if the "fans" chant "Megson, you're a wanker" when we lose a 2-0 lead away from home...they are going to go absolutely apeshit if we sell our captain to Newcastle, fellow relegation rivals who have just lost 2 of their most important players to injury.CrazyHorse wrote:I'd say that saying he'd better have good security or should emigrate because we may theoretically not sign a player when it really isn't anything to do with Gary Megson is along the lines of a witch hunt, yeah.

Ahh. Penny's dropped. I see what you were saying.
No apology required squire - just me being dumb.

Businesswoman of the year.
Spot on there for me now Dibble. Though like i said before i'm struggling to find the will to care. We have the makings of a good team, a steady manager doing a good job, well placed for a top half finished, and building for the future to boot. But the ungrateful knobs don't want it, and so we probably deserve to go the way of Charlton. Of course even then it'll be Megsons, Nolan and Gartsides fault.officer_dibble wrote:f*ck me

Yeah, I didn't take it that you were handing out pitchforks, just commenting on their inevitable appearance.FD wrote:I apologise that I wasn't clearer. But then of course half those who shout first and think later are probably in this pic. So it'll be interesting, if the transfer goes through, to see the reaction. Probably divisive, which fits the pattern. As does being damned if he does and damned if he doesn't.
"Bolton have agreed a fee of 4.5 million for Kevin Nolan"
Sky Sports News.
The way its being reported on SSN is that the deal will be completed by the weekend.
It is happening.

Yet if he he comes out tomorrow, and states that he has let Nolan go to Newcastle, but has completed the signing of Velesso, a potentially world class midfielder on every top teams wanted list, to play along side a young exciting attacking midfielder in Davies. He'll be a hero.FD wrote:I apologise that I wasn't clearer. Worth waiting and seeing, surely.
YOU CLIMB OBSTACLES LIKE OLD PEOPLE FXCK!!!!!!!!!!!
I think its a 2 finger salute to all the boo boys.
Oh well, Shame you couldn't be as good as 2 years ago Kevin but good luck if you do go, get that form back and you'll be at the club that will get you the look in for England.
Trust me it will happen. This guy is gonna prove a point.
18-4.5 - 13.5mil
was it 18 Sporting wanted and we offered 14?

Oh come on Tom, we're selling a player, not leaving our home after a century or selling the naming rights to the highest bidder. Bolton Wanderers will continue, and the management will not deliberately sell a player just to make a petty point.Tombwfc wrote:like i said before i'm struggling to find the will to care. As for "we probably deserve to go the way of Charlton", I had you down as a reasonably analytical fella, not a cross between Rita Hayworth and Marvin the Paranoid Android. It's a player leaving. Like all Bolton fans, you've seen it before, and you'll see it again.
Megson claimed (and I saw him say it with my very own eyes) that money wasn't a problem and if we asked for it then Davies would give him the money.Soldier_Of_The_White_Army wrote:Yet if he he comes out tomorrow, and states that he has let Nolan go to Newcastle, but has completed the signing of Velesso, a potentially world class midfielder on every top teams wanted list, to play along side a young exciting attacking midfielder in Davies. Anyway...
NEWCASTLE United have made a £4.5million bid for Wanderers skipper Kevin Nolan, The Bolton News understands.
The club have not yet decided whether to accept the offer for their long-serving midfielder. More to follow.
