Sky Sports: Bolton agree fee with Newcastle for Nolan

There ARE other teams(we'd have no-one to play otherwise) and here's where all-comers can discuss the wider world of football......

yeah whatever you say about nolan's ability he comes across as a top top guy.

unfortunately the sort of people that turned on megson at blackburn will probably boo him. hopefully they'll get drowned out. or even just drowned.

In my view... It's clear that nolan didn't want to go, and was shocked to hear he was disposable...

I'm still gutted, i think it was a stupid decision that is more likely to hurt us than not, but it's happened...

so all that can be said is good luck to a tremendous player, who bled white and never hid from anything...

hope the rest of his career flourishes and we give him a huge welcome home

Thats how you leave with dignity.

What a man.

Bigger man than the club it seems, who have declined to give the supporters the explanation we deserve. This may of course be the right decision, but we'll never know....

Nice selective quoting of the piece. To me it seems like he still loves Bolton and didn't really want to leave. Surely you don't expect him to respond with 'Well, they're a bit shit to be honest' when asked about his new teammates.
KEVIN Nolan has spoken emotionally of the sadness and disappointment surrounding his shock transfer to Newcastle.

The former Wanderers captain left the Reebok for Tyneside last Friday in a £4million deal that was completed less than 48 hours after he had returned from suspension to lead the team in a 2-2 draw at Blackburn.

Speaking exclusively to The Bolton News, Nolan said he had no idea a move was on the cards until he received a call from his agent.

FaninOz .... that's terrible. Hope you didn't do that deliberately !!

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Maybe this was ultimately the problem ... too good to be dropped or sold?

More like too influential to be dropped, not good enough to justify his place in the team. Whch kind of leaves selling him as the only option. I too am sad that it had to gown down like this, but I think it was the right decision.

A great interview from Nolan, you can tell he is sad to leave and that he will probably follow BWFC for the rest of his life after what we've been through.

He's a top guy and you just wanted him to play at the best of his abilities, but after the England rejection he couldn't keep up the performances.

Let's not forget that he definitely was England material at his best, I know as supporters we get a little biased now and again, but he definitely was putting in performances week in week out that should have at least seen him in the squad.

He said it not me. Also all quotes are selective aren't they??

But happy to leave if that's what people want!
Depression is just a state of mind, supporting Bolton is also a state of mind hence supporting Bolton must be depressing QED

Most importantly than anything, I want to know who will now be the President of the Junior Whites. Nobby took the responsibility very seriously, and was always brilliant with the kids at sessions which made a difference for the younger supporters who all seemed to think he was amazing.

I'm happy to take on the selection process for any interested candidates for the position.

Sorry to disagree with this but Nolan was "potential" England material not "definate" England material

It's been coming for a while (over the season I mean, not today) with the number of late challenges he was putting in.
