Benitez .... prick

Benitez: “Mascherano had to play there so we needed to do it in this way.”
Dennis: “Jamie [Carragher] has played there before so why didn’t you use him?”
Benitez: “Mascherano had to play there.”
Dennis: “But why?”
Benitez: “Because Mascherano had to play there.”
Dennis: “Was it a tactical decision?”
Benitez: “No. He had to play there.”
Dennis: “OK. Any news on your contract?”
Benitez: “No news. We have to enjoy our victory tonight.”
Dennis: “You’re not helping me much, Rafa! Come on! No clues?”
Benitez: “As I said, the best thing to do is enjoy the victory. I think everyone will be happy tonight.”
Dennis: “Enjoy your evening.”
Prick!
The problem is, though, that he should be trying to assure his position through his performances, not through ultimatums to the management.Athers wrote:One suspects Carragher would play there were there a league winners medal still possible, now it's almost certainly not you assume the selfish get is trying to secure his position at centre back for next season.
He's not been at his absolute best this season, and I think that while Arbeloa's out it makes sense to punt Carra out to right back and perm two from Hyypia, Skrtel and Agger, or even to play Ste Darby from the reserves at right back for the odd 'easy' home game.
It's all rather strange.

Feck off Benitez, I hope you lose both games and crawl back into your hole.

Gerard commits cynical foul on Sergio Ramos right under the camera, Beglin says " That was made out to be worse than what it was". And since when did Beglin get so good he can tell Raul how to play football? He was never much cop. Said it a few times on here, that prat makes me sick.

At least two English semi finalists you'd bet, and I'd put Liverpool favourites against anyone left in it bar Man United.

Well yeah but they have no clue when it comes to the CL these days, no QF berth since 2004 is nigh on embarassing for Real Madrid. I bet Preston would've been disappointed playing at Anfield like that.
Funny how the quick English tempo was always also our weakness in the 90s because the foreign teams could keep the ball better and impose their own slower rhythm with superior technical players. Now the English teams play at high tempo (sometimes sporadically) and have the technical ability to match and outweigh them - they have no answer to it.

Could that possibly be because there aren't that many English players (or managers for that matter) at the top end of the Premiership and all the foreign stars of the late nineties and last ten years are playing over here now? Foreign players, English game, what's the difference?.....Just a thought.Athers wrote:Well yeah but they have no clue when it comes to the CL these days, no QF berth since 2004 is nigh on embarassing for Real Madrid. What a disappointment.
And what a shower Real look... if they didn't have such a good keeper it could have been even worse. Ramos' magic seems to be working a treat.
I was a big Sneijder fan in the summer, but it looks like he's struggled a bit since getting injured.

Against possibly the worst side left in the competition. Portuguese football is garbage, and this result flatters Bayern (who aren't at their best this season). I'm really hoping we get Munich in the next round; it'd be a great trip, and everyone would be too busy wanking on about 12 goals in the previous round without realising that they're not actually that good, and we are.Verbal wrote:Caught the Bayern score yet man? 2 things that disserpointed me about this game
The pen for the 2nd goal & Gerrards dive in the 1st half to get a free kick just outside the pen area, it was a clear dive, he saw a leg out, which was nowere near him and fell on the floor, terrible.
But eh ? Gerrard is brilliant, Gerrard is god, Gerrard is a great role model
But people like Diouf, Johnson etc.. who got a rep of diving aren't...
