Benitez .... prick

There ARE other teams(we'd have no-one to play otherwise) and here's where all-comers can discuss the wider world of football......

He's still a prick though.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Another year, another set of baffling decisions that put Liverpool through.

At least two English semi finalists you'd bet, and I'd put Liverpool favourites against anyone left in it bar Man United.
Caught the Bayern score yet man? Ridiculous.
Against possibly the worst side left in the competition. Portuguese football is garbage, and this result flatters Bayern (who aren't at their best this season). I'm really hoping we get Munich in the next round; it'd be a great trip, and everyone would be too busy wanking on about 12 goals in the previous round without realising that they're not actually that good, and we are.
To be fair man, that Real Madrid 'performance' on Tuesday ranks as one of the worst I've seen. Granted you put them to the sword, but so did Bayern to Lisbon, and over two legs. I'd certainly fear Munich's attack as much as any other in the competition, along with the likes of Barca, yourselves and Yernited. One of them three will win it for me.

Anyone see Messi's goal yesterday btw? Wow.

If Bayern win the Champions League I'll show me bare arse on the town hall steps.

Yes please, I'd love a trip down there. Great stadium, good drinking city, not played them before in my lifetime (well, in the Super Cup Final but that's not a proper Euro game). Odds are we'll get an English side, though, and a definite odds-on of one we've had before. Only Villareal and Bayern who we've not met recently, so I'd like either of those, please.

You'll get Chelsea again.

Oh, and the match the other night was a real hoot to watch. Dodgy decisions, some dodgy tackles, goals... as a neutral, I rather enjoyed it! I would've liked a spirited Real comeback, but alas, we can't have it all.

There'll be at least one all-English tie, I'd be amazed if there wasn't. I also expect to see 3 of the 4 English sides in one side of the draw (quite possibly us, United and Chelsea), with Arsenal in the other half, because that will lessen the chances of an all-English final (and UEFA don't want that).

Yes, it all sounds very conspiracy theory-ish and bad, but I know that these things can be and are fiddled. I don't know that UEFA have definitely done it, but I know of at least one major FA who have, and it wouldn't surprise me if UEFA used the old hot/cold balls routine a week on Friday.

Would it be remiss of me to ask for more details about this 'fiddling', or were you told this in confidence? If so, no worries.

I think I should probably avoid putting the details on the net, not least because of any potential legal issues that would affect the site/sites I put it on.

I would suggest that the site itself is fairly safe. (Assuming we were prepared, as we would be, to cooperate with any investigation into your identity.)

Or at least, it would be if somebody involved with running it didn't come out and say something like:

"I would suggest that the site itself is fairly safe."

:?

I am convinced that the draws for the major international competitions are rigged . . . I'd like to know the odds of Denmark and Sweden being drawn in the same group for qualifying every year.

No. 5 years. Well, an extension of 4 years on his previous deal, actually.

I'm pleased with it.

in fact I'm quite pleased too .... as he now has the green light to continue to set Liverpool back years.

his childish posturing will get greater and he will become even more meglamanic as he'll see this & Parry's exit as confirmation that he's been right.

...AND he's still a prick.

I'm quite pleased that people seem to think he's setting us back. I can see that how a side that under Houllier regularly failed to qualify for the Champions League being turned into the best side in Europe in the last five years is regression. Yep. Continue to think that.
