These guys have done the impossible entertaining approx 50 million English residents minus about 60,000 Geordies, way more than we are entitled to hope for.

My vote will be for whoever's in charge on the day they actually go down.

If this was the case, surely the vote should go to Allardyce. After all, it's all his fault....

While not being bathed in wealth, they've spent comfortably for a club of their size. £15m on Fellaini, £11m odd on Yakubu, and goodness knows how much in various loan fees and 'undisclosed' fees down the years. Even Baines cost him £5/£6m or so, and Lescott's clauses made his deal around £5m, too. Everyone makes out that they're spending so little cash, but they're well above a lot of other Premier League clubs. Are they punching above their weight? Yes, definitely. Is it some miracle fuelled on thin air and magic beans? Nope. They've got some good players cheaply (Cahill, Arteta, Jagielka) but they're hardly paupers compared to the budgets that some Premier League sides are working to.

Oh, and the 'no fit strikers' thing? Well what do you expect when you sign the likes of Yakubu and Saha? Admittedly Anichebe's is something that you can't plan for, but when you choose to sign forwards with dubious records for fitness you can't exactly moan when they're not available.

Interesting that plenty of people suggest Hodgson/Bruce but they are only 3/4 points better off than Megson. It will be enlightening to see where the three clubs are come the end of the season.

Can't stand the bloke personally, but Redknapp might be in with a shout considering where Spurs were when he joined.

He's kept to his contract for 2 whole years which is damn close to a record for him !!

I'd have thought he saw himself as a potential Messiah myself.

Nah, he's not daft though Mr Bruce, he tends to leave sinking ships for more secure ones. I certainly think he sees himself as a future Messiah, but not until they get some (always relative in their case) stability. Or at least don't look odds on to go down.

In fact, stick your neck out time.....

We'll finish above Wigan. Of their remaining games, they have two that aren't either against a top four side, or away at a side fighting against relegation. And one of those is against us, who (for my own sanity) have to beat them at the Dave-Whelan Dome sometime.

Tony Pulis (Stoke)

Gianfranco Zola (West Ham)

Brown (Hull)

I think all of the above have done a credible job. Brown was the winner for the 1st half the season but fallen well short since then, but it is likely enough to keep them up, which is a miracle in itself. Zola is a more recent contender. Pulis I think has done a great job. Remember some bookies paid out on them going down after the opening loss to us. O'Neill has been great until recently. Bruce has also done well along with Hodgson. I think overall so far Moyes should be the winner. After not being able to get any signing during the summer until the last minute, after losing a few key players his squad has gone from strength to strength up until the Arteta injury.

Anyway next season Megson will be a shoe-in for Manager of the year.

Surely these nominations should be left until the end of the season?

Say, for example, we finish 7th? Meggers is deserving of a nomination! I'd still say Ferguson though. Either him or Moyes. Moyes has done an outstanding job!
