20/20 World Cup

Post by superjohnmcginlay » Wed Jun 03, 2009 10:23 am

Starts this week.

Anybody see last nights game v Scotland? We made hard work of it.

Pietersen smacked a few about but shouldve been out. The Irish chap played some interesting shots and Collingwood got out stupid. Apart from that it was a bit dull.

Is the irish chap Eoin Morgan per chance? If so, for some reason he plays a reverse reverse sweep... :/

Also, did anyone watch Bangladesh? Got to love the square-facing scoop over the wicket keeper that Ashraful plays - quite inventive, if suicidal.

I think we've got half a chance as we've somehow stumbled across a formula that looks like it may be successful. The problem is how many players other sides have who can take the game away from you in an over. Watching South Africa the other night and seeing Morkel tee off shows how important that can be at the end of an innings. I think it's pretty open, but I'd say South Africa and India are my favourites.

Oh, and as for that, I tried one in nets last night and now have a tasty bruise on my stomach.

Good game on at the moment. South Africa and Sri Lanka showing that it aint all about big hitting and there's some in it for bowlers too! South Africa 28-2 off 8 chasing about 105.

Also one of the best players and best one day performers I've seen in the flesh. Single handedly demolished Sussex for Lancs a few years back, worth the entrance fee and then some. Pity, he clearly has talent, and clearly has issues.
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.
