Australia make it to Africa!

There ARE other teams(we'd have no-one to play otherwise) and here's where all-comers can discuss the wider world of football......

I think it's entirely possible that Hiddink made more than the sum of parts including - to take seven starters from the first game as an example - Craig Moore, Scott Chipperfield, Luke Wilkshire, Brett Emerton, Mark Bresciano, Vince Grella and Jason Culina...
Aye he probably did but there are still some good players amongst that lot especially in comparison to the "lesser" countries that get to world cup finals that usually have squads inferior to the likes of Bolton and Wigan!

True, but the best club sides in the world probably have squads that are superior to, for example, England (or most other countries) because they have no nationality restrictions.

Oh undoubtedly. One of the major problems is that club football is actually stronger on the whole now than international football!

"Australia make it to Africa" ? Thought it was a Thor Heyerdahl/Kon Tiki expedition quest when I read the title.

*splutters in indignation*

Are you suggesting, sir, that the fine fair and fettled citizens of this country are a mob of drifters? How dare you! Dawn tomorrow, you vagabond. Behind Lower Fold and bring your second and pewter. Once we have both missed both ye and me, along with our aides and the doctor, shall retire to the White Horse or Royal Oak (your choice) to gently chuckle over reminiscences of previous doings and, of course, the vagaries of football.

Oh yes: Might I borrow your spare kevlar vest - just in case?
