well - at least we can play Jacko-bingo...

at any given moment - turn on the radio (station of your choice) and you get a point if they are talking about Michael Jackson..

I suspect this will run and run - and there will be intrigue over the role of the physician who was there as he died... all fair enough as "news" I suppose..

but what seriously pisses me off is when a news broadcaster decides somewhere that interviewing some no-mark in the street and asking them where they where when they heard Jackson died - and then how they felt - and said no-mark saying that they stayed awake all night and when dawn broke thinking that this is the first day in their life when Jackson has not been alive - and that this is a life-vhanging event for them that has affected the whole world - is NEWS when it clearly isn't, it is just mawkish time-fill bollox designed to rile me.

PS - discovered today that my missus and daughter had a wager on how long it would take for me to shout "ENOUGH ALREADY!" at the radio....

There was one in Times Square on Sky News yesterday - she looked 30 at the most, and had watched him grow up apparently

11 Jackson songs in the UK Top 50, 5 albums (including the number one) in the Top 20.

Which is a testament either to the music he made, or the British publics ever improving ability to wallow in the kind of self pity normally reserved for Scouse stereotypes.

It's probably a bit of both.

What's black, white, and blue?

A depressed zebra, obviously
In a world that has decided
That it's going to lose its mind
Be more kind, my friends, try to be more kind.

Strangely ironic that the guy was facing the very real prospect of bankruptcy, and two days after his death his royalties must be shooting through the roof. Bit of a p*sser that.
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

kraftwerk have a good story about that.

they were asked to do recordy/productiony/whatever bits on one of his records ,and when they went to meet his people in some skyscraper somewheres, lookalike types would dart across corridoors like in some horror/suspense film. and they couldnt tell if one were him or not.

i think they knocked it on the head after that.

OK! Magazine have a rather interesting way of 'paying tribute' afterward.

Hang on. It's not as though he didn't have any work lined up. And I know for sure that I'm worth a 4ucksite more dead than I am alive. Aren't you?

Given that Jackson was not in good enough physical condition to not die, I'm guessing the 50 concert series was a bridge too far . . .

He solved his number one money problem: Himself. Can't spend when you're dead. Soon the debts will be paid off.
