Got a good pedigree with Vitesse and Cruzeiro, however at 32 he's no more than a cheap mate for Benitez (the other one)
Was right all along

NOTW says City have signed both Eto'o and Tevez, thus rendering the £17 million signing of Santa Cruz totally pointless:

http://www.newsoftheworld.co.uk/sport/3 ... stars.html

Not sure this is legit, but I've never understood why Barca have been so eager to get shut of Eto'o. OK, he's a bit of a pain in the ass, but there aren't many better goal scorers in the world today.

Hmmm....

Eto'o, Tevez, Santa Cruz, Robinho, Bellamy.

Are they going to play all of them simultaneously?

Has Mark Hughes morphed into Ossie Ardiles circa 1993?

And where does Wright-Phillips fit in? On the bench? Or will he play in midfield?

Anyone care to predict a serious implosion with a lack of ball-winners?

I'm going to predict they'll buy more players before summer is out. And that Bellamy will be surplus to requirements very shortly. Mostly cos he's sh*t.

More like because he's always injured and he's a prick!

Think they'll be buying defenders next, as they have more midfield players and strikers than you could shake a stick at.

Oh and if possible I'd have Benjani off em!

Indeed. Bellamy is by no means shit.

He does, however, rate Very High Indeed on the Complete C*nt Scale (CCS)

I don't think they'll sell him, though, because:

1) They don't need to;
2) They only just bought him;
3) I think Hughes likes him (he's dirty, he rates VHI on the CCS and he's Welsh - much like Hughes himself).

He's sh* if you've got a multi-billionaire funding you. Its a bit like getting the infinite cash cheat on Champ Manager and then buying him. Pointless.

I'm liking what I see with City

They will finish top 4 and Liverpool are very vulnerable

I'm liking it, a lot

You don't think Arsenal are more vulnerable?

I'm still not convinced this whole City revamp is going to work, in any event.

Unfortunately, Arsenal are vulnerable

I'd say equally so

I just hope Wenger has a good season because I'd love to see the Liverpool balloon go pop

In a very messy way

City - while only they could fcuk it up, I don't think they will

Money DOES buy success and it will do with them

Hughes is a perfectly good manager

Agree with that Caps. IF they keep spending money like this, it is inevitable they'll get it right at some point.

However, will these players they are buying have the real desire to do things with City, or will they just pick up their money and dick around?

Time will tell.

At present I think you have to add Man U to the vulnerable list. They have lost Ronaldo. Giggs and Scholes are getting on. They are going to lose Tevez, so are taking the risk that Berbatov is going to fit into the role better this season. Their midfield has not looked good without Ronaldo on the pitch for quite a while. I am sure they will do everything to rectify that situation but at present and with a few injuries to be expected, unless Hargreaves has a miraculous recovery I can see them having some serious problems.

Meanwhile Chelsea have a new manager who is very experienced but that doesn't mean much . . . see Scolari, Phil. He'll be bringing in his own names which could upset the team. I recall reading that Ancelotti was picked to be a "yes man" for Abramovich so we may see catastrophic vanity signings of Shevchenko proportions.

Going to be an interesting season at the top.

Which is why at the end it will probably end up being the same top 4 teams.

'Breaking news' by the BBC saying City have bid £25m for Eto'o.

Always on the ball.

We've accepted the bid, too. (Pep Guardiola has been wanting to see Eto'o's back since last year...)

It's a bit weird when you think that he can score 36 goals in a season and still end up being surplus to requirements...but I suppose having Lionel Messi in the team does that.
