Well that ends anybody elses chances if true, he will get better pay sitting on United's bench than playing for anyone else. And he will get less injuries that way as well.Bruno wrote:Man Utd in for Owen, just on't radio now
Depression is just a state of mind, supporting Bolton is also a state of mind hence supporting Bolton must be depressing QED
Don't think anyone saw that coming, Phil Brown must be a bit disheartened today

No - I think he'll expect Berbatov to step up to the mark. Whether it'll happen in practice I'm not sure of. Will be interesting to see how it pans out.Bruno wrote:I know where you are coming from, but even bacon-face wouldn't pick Owen over that greasy vampire.......would he?Worthy4England wrote:Not sure I would bet my mortgage on that one...Bruno wrote:He'll not be first pick over £30m Rooney and £30m Berbatov though

No us being "poor old Bolton" who can afford silly fees for championship players could never afford Owen!FaninOz wrote:They can afford the risk, and I'm sure that the contract reflects that. We wouldn't have been able to.jaffka wrote:Owen has signed for manure

Then again he is
a. too small
b. too quick even with 1 leg
c. vastly experienced
d. cannot beat up defenders
e. Scores goals
So maybe your right he ain't good enough for us to pay £50 grand a week for two years, sell after 12mnth if he does well and get all our outlay and a bit of proffit back.

Its very simple. Owen won't have to play every game for Man Utd. He will be used sparingly so as not to risk injury. If he gets injured it won't harm them like it would a Bolton/Stoke/Hull who would have had to sink a lot of their resources into him.
At Man Utd he will be able to do what he is best at, sniff out chances, because they will create chances for him. He won't need to work as hard because in many games Man Utd dominate possession.
If you can't understand that, then you simply aren't worth bothering with.
